Tuning Avenger .25 Slug Tune

If I had a good answer, I would give it to you. I see you have been trying to get one for quite a while now. I don’t own an Avenger. But there is a member on here that I don’t remember his name but he made a video about his in 25 caliber. He actually made a Woodstock for it before the Woodstock ones were available. And he said he was going to try shooting slugs out of it which he did. I remember he got decent results but I don’t remember what Brand of slug and size and weight. I have heard some people getting good results from the Avenger and some people not. It seems like the diameter of the slug is the most important thing in most guns. I think some people like to use diameters On the smaller side in guns that have a choke.I No you don’t wanna buy a bunch of slugs of different brands and weights and sizes to try because it can get very expensive. Hopefully somebody can give you some Help to point you in the right direction.Try looking on YouTube because he might’ve put that video on there.

I think its because slugs don't really come into there own until 50 yard and beyond. I have a 25 cal Avenger and i only use NSA 29 and 33 gr. i will give up the pin point accuracy 50 yards and closer because 90% of the time I'm 50 plus yards away. I have done some work to mine also, nothing to deep but it is not stock. open up the barrel port-polished the barrel, added 2 barrel bands, one at the muzzle end and replaced the stock one with a better idea for support, a barrel extender. I also clean and lube my slugs. I hope this helps you. I have my reg at 2700-2800, hammer all the way in and then 1/4 turn backed off.

Gunner616 thanks for the input.

I'm still pretty much stock and have done some additional tuning on pellets. I'm getting fantastic groups out of the JSB King 25.xx grains.. I have the reg at 28--2900, and 1/4 turn backed out on the hammer spring. I also have the Donnyfl adapter that slips over the end of the barrel when installed and his Tanto moderator. I'm planning to get at least 1 additional barrel band soon, and probably go ahead and polish the barrel as well. Below are pics of my 8-shot groups at 30yds and 50 yds through the ATN X Sight 4k day/night vision scope. I'm planning for this rifle to be the hog gun so wanted it set up with NV capability. Also my feeder/blind setup pretty much keeps my potential shots in the 30-50 yd range.
