Tuning Avenger heavier hammer spring

Looking for a little stronger hammer spring and have no idea where to begin to look.. If I raise reg setting above 2000 psi I cannot open valve properly. I have seen references here in the past for sources for springs but my ability to use the search features is sorely lacking. A little help would be appreciated. Thanks,

Can you get me the measurements of the factory spring. Just need OD, length and wire diameter. I may have an upgrade.

Troy, I show 2.39" long, OD is 0.366 ( 3/8) ". Wire is 0.0625" ( 1/16"). Thanks, in advance!

Is this a 22? While the 25 uses the same spring it also has an additional washer/shim. I believe the 25 cal default reg setting is 2900psi.

I would think it should still be fine at 2Kpsi, though. You may have something else going on, such as hammer galling, etc.

But I'm with Fuzzygrub. Both my .22's came set at 2600 or 2900 psi reg pressure (I don't remember, and I'm not running them that high). Stock spring should be enough (if everything else is stock).

I'd vote for the hammer binding. Pull the hs adj and hs. The hammer should slide back and forth just by rocking the rifle up and down.

Am I missing something thought the avenger was a 3000 psi gun 2900 psi set reg doesn't make sense even 2600 psi set reg is rather high that's over 150 bar idk though thanks

Spring should be heavy enough to open 2000 psi though I would think

My .22 says 300 bar (4351 psi) max fill. And 2900 psi max reg set pressure.

I'm set at 125 bar (on cheap unreliable factory gauge), maybe 5/8 or 3/4 of a turn in on HS, shooting 18.1 grains at 870ish fps (I think it maxed around 920ish....I don't remember). But for MRD's, I needed max reg and max hammer, and still wasn't going above 900 fps....IIRC.
