N/A Avenger or JTS airacuda

I have boiled it down to one of those two rifles for my first PCP. Which one would you say is better overall. I do mostly plinking but i see more hunting in my future.
I have read a lot about issues with the JTS. Avenger is pretty well tried and true. i don’t have either. I got the Avenge-X for my first and XM1 scout for my 5th in that price range / category.

Don’t have personal experience with the JTS, but do own an Avenger in .22. It’s a great shooter, light weight, and fully adjustable. Have it in the Buck-Rail stock, with the B-R adapter and tapered moderator. Consistently hits my 3” gong at 100 yds. Have busted clay birds at 140. My only complaint would be the overall length, especially when adding the moderator. Been considering picking up another maybe in .177, and cutting dow the barrel to see how it shoots as a carbine. The one I have shoots too well to mess with.
Hope this helps.

Yes, I’ve gray he great things about it also. I have yet to get a bullpup. Always concerned with the trigger system but I think my next one will be a bullpup of some kind

Interesting, you want to go down to .177, I was thinking of getting a .25. Any reason to go down instead of up in caliber.

Steer clear of JTS Airacuda Max, the unregulated Airacuda Standard is better option. Air Venturi Avenger is a popular starter PCP, but several aftermarket add-ons are needed. Air Venturi upgraded the platform with these add-ons and more, calling it Avenge-X. PA Insyder, Pyramyd Air's video department, has a great side-by-side comparison video on YouTube. WM

I've used both and they, as far as I could tell, fine rifles.

But the best under $500 rifle I've used is the Niksan Ozark. $445 at The Pellet Shop. Liked it so much I bought one. Nuts on accurate. Adjustable power. M18x1.5 500cc bottle. Side lever. Comes with 4 magazines. My .22 loves heavy pellets like JTS 25.39G. For a few bucks extra you can even have a wood stock.

I went with .177 this time because I needed to power down in order to shoot birds safely inside my warehouse when they get in. With the Akela, I get the option of full power for slugs, or lower for pellets in the building, with a twist of the power wheel. It’s a tack driver either way.

Are those big air tanks heavy.

The aluminum one that comes on the rifle is heavier than the Carbon Fiber bottle with which I replaced it.
Only a matter of ounces
500cc CF Tank is 22 Oz
500cc Aluminum is 25 Oz

The rifle, without scope, regulator or moderator is a little over 7lbs.
Mine with scope, regulator, moderator and ARCA adapter is a bit over 10lbs.

got my first pcp bout a year ago. got the aircuda standard.....VERY GLAD I DID!!!! adjust the trigger and its stupid acuarate out of the box. put on level 4 and you shooting 14.3s around 860 fps and about 90 shots....very sweet gun and for a nebie you dont have to do alot of adjusting. i hated the avenger mags! turn backwards and put in a pellet backwards,,,,pain in the arse. kind of flimsy to and the cocking lever , very flimsy and tin e. cuda has excellent metal mags and they work ...flawlesly with great cocking lever/action. you have 5 power settings and you can put on #3 and shoot around 800 fps. for around a 100 shots, and a nice wood stock. the avenger stock is light , but a little .....plasticy! AIRCUDA BRO!(y)

Thats not bad at all. I got a Diana 54 with a scope and that thing is around 12 lbs. I tried hunting with it but it gets tiring real fast.
