Air Venturi Avenger Owners Sound Off

Hello, with the Avenger having been out for around four years, I'm looking for feedback from those who have owned them for most/all of that time. What would you list as the pros and cons of ownership?

Do any parts break after a certain number of shots and do they stay sealed well?

I'm considering one and am looking for feedback.

I've had an Avenger and I was disappointed in it and returned it, I have worked on a few Avenge X guns, resealing them and was just as disappointed in them as well.

Long, heavy, plastic and pot metal, all put-offs for me.

I would go with the Zelos right now.

I bought one used a year and a half ago. It is not pellet picky, in fact I have shot a sub moa group with it at 100 yards. It has been trouble free with one exception. One time, after a complete refill, it would not load a pellet. I degassed it to start looking for the problem, and the breach closed. Filled it again and have been shooting it ever since. If I was going to buy a new rifle, it would be the Avenger Bullpup second addition. It now has the forward cocking lever. They say you get what you pay for, but in this case you get way more than you pay for. One man’s opinion.

I've had the wood stock version 22 cal since that version debuted and am pleased with it. I tuned according to the guide on AEAC channel and after researching discovered that they like the reg set to half the fill pressure to avoid the first shot going wild that many bitch about. Mine is set to 1400psi reg so I fill to 2800psi. Shoots great.

I've had one for a bit, about almost 200 pellets through it. No issues, cuts holes at 20 yards. Shoots pellets and slugs alike, I haven't decided what to really optimize for yet. It can't shoot fx hybrid slugs because they are too tight which bums be out. I like the hybrids.

Pyramyd Air's video group, PA Insyder, has a video on YouTube which highlights differences between the original Avenger and the updated Avenge-X. Knowing what Air Venturi designers felt compelled to upgrade might prove helpful. WM

I bought a refurbished one from PA. I had to add two barrel bands to keep the POI from moving.

It is long and made of plastic and pot metal, but it is lightweight( 6.5lbs)
