First try at a stock refinish!
I didnt.mind the color. It was the slippery feel in my hands(many layers.of...paint, lacquer?)
Anywhooose...
Sanded back to the wood(in most areas)*found some damage(repairs in the wood?) but I'm not concerned about it.
Then cleaned off with a damp cloth.
One coat of Birchwood Casey brand: Tru-Oil rubbed in for a few minutes and then set to dry.
What it was looking like
After the sand and damp cloth cleaning
After the oil rundown
It's weird the wood "wants to stick" to my hands now. Also not as shiny but I like that it shows the "scars" that were hidden underneath; it and I share a common bond
