"B" Rifle stock refinish ( iAMzehTOASTY1 )

Laid out some work on the stock😅
Just marked where the stipling is going to go...then i figured I'd color it in so I know here my top layer is.
In doing so...my sweaty hands started to smear my Crayola colored pencil INTO the wood👀🤔
Oh yea!
Stain is...dye and oil...right?🤣🤷‍♂️
Layer in some more pencil ingredients and rubbed it in until I liked how it looked🥹🤓
Still gotta dig out my little rotary tool after i draw some grip lines to carve in....
So it's technically stained with Crayola and...me😆😆😆

Do not over look using the old school tools. Not too much cash and an outstanding end product. Practice a bit, rotate push randonly-or Not- and use different lines per inch.
Very rewarding.

Many available but here is the idea: https://www.brownells.com/tools-cleaning/gun-tools/stock-tools/wood-stippling-punches/
I'm sure you can find videos of folks using them.

Oooo those are tempting!👀
Wonder if the wood on this stock would be able to take it.
...do you just tap it lightly?🤔

nice looking so far, keep up the nice design . why do you want stippling or checkering ? or do you use a deathgrip on your springers ?

when i ordered my C 1000 stock (for 97K ) from UK i said just smooth wood no stippling or checkering ,
I'd like to add the checkering/stippling for ...I guess personal preference 😅 give my hands reference points without looking? Idk I'm used to them. Like the feel of it over the smooth. My synthetic stocks are smooth. So I'd like to keep the wood ones not smooth? 🥴
Plus something to do inside while it's 100°+ outside 🫠
