Looks nice but I wish I had the model before it with white spacer and metal trigger. I had one of them and it was a tack driver

Beautiful examples you've got there Bear. Not having a Sheridan since the early 1980’s, and owning/selling a few Weihrauch 5mm’s, I swore them off after getting into 22 caliber. Then, I got a Benjamin 392 that brought it all back. I have been enjoying this 22 caliber 392 pumper and shooting it more than I have Springers in a few years. So, I decided to get a Sheridan again. Always wanted the Silver Streak but never got one. Picked up this one from a fellow member here (Thank You!) and a newer 2003 also. To beat all, I sold all my 5mm pellets a couple years ago to a fellow member (I can hear him smiling) to boot. Oh well, I won’t shoot these as much as the 392 anyway. I may not shoot as many shots in a session as a barrel cocker, but I’m definitely having more sessions. Nice to have back in my life again.View attachment 427906View attachment 427907
Check the crown on the Benjamin 392. The newer Silver Streak in the picture I posted was barely shot. 20 years old. And I can see why. Bone dry when I got it. Trigger was untouched, dry and heavy. After going through it completely which included a trigger job down to under two pounds, it shot like buck shot. I checked the crown and it was untouched because it was still nickel plated. It was literally a tear drop shape. I took it to a good local gunsmith and he didn’t want anything to do with it. It’s not a re-crown because that is simply removing enough barrel and doing the crown. This is a “straightening” of the crown where it is and it’s very oblong. No room for error. Anyway with Devine help I did it myself. Now it’s a tack driver. This picture is before and the taper at the top is less than half what you see here at the bottom. After is an even crown to the rifling without damaging the nickel plating or barrel end.Beautiful examples you've got there Bear.
My 392PA sits in the corner while the Sheridan's see all the multi-stroke pumper action. Something is wrong with the Benjamin's accuracy, while the Sheridan's can hit small targets at 30 yards. The Sheridan's are easier to handle as well, especially the 55.View attachment 428534
I did the crown on the 392PA with minimal results. I had done my Silverstreak, a project gun that someone ruined, with excellent reslts on that one.Check the crown on the Benjamin 392.
