Backpackable refilling tank for Marauder Pistol ( Prod )

How large of a tank would I need to bring my stock Marauder Pistol from 1400 psi to 2800-2900 psi at least 6 times? If it is possible, I would want to refill the tank slowly with my GX-CS3 compressor the night before the hike, from 2000 psi to a point where I could get at least 5, preferably 6 refills on the Prod. Is that possible with a small backpackable carbon fiber tank? I will be carrying it on 2-5 mile shooting hikes in the desert.

I can get 4 mags (32 rounds) out of the Prod from a 2800-2900 psi fill before I need to top it off, so with 6 fills I could get 224 shots which would be enough for the hike.

Just got one of these, with a fill station from Amazon you are looking at just over 100 bucks total:

You can also go best fitting or ninja fill station setup but both will run you close to or we’ll over 300 bones.

Thanks to both for the replies! Saved that calculator page for future reference. Very handy.

Prod air cylinder capacity = 65 cc
30 min SCBA tank volume = 45 cubic feet
10 min SCBA tank volume = ? Does anyone know the volume of a 10 minute SCBA tank?

I am guessing the volume of a 10 min SCBA tank would be about 10 cubic feet, so probably not big enough for filling the Prod 6 times from 1400 psi to 2800, with a 3000 psi fill on the tank but with a 3600 psi tank fill it would maybe do 10 refills and almost 14 with a 4000 psi fill.

So the big question is, how long would it take to fill the 10 minute SCBA tank with a GX CS2/3 from 2800 psi to 3000, 3600 and maybe 4000? I am guessing 4500 psi would be a very long fill and maybe not such a good idea with an older tank?

Rather than a 10 minute SCBA tank, maybe I should be looking at a used 30 minute SCBA tank - seeing some under for $70, 2008 build date with current hydro testing and some with 2012 build dates for a bit more. Total weight seems OK to backpack one. How long would it take to fill one of those from 2800 psi with the GX compressor? I could use that tank with my Factor RC / 580 cc bottle as well - filling it 5 to 8 times from my regulator pressure of 2030 psi to 3000 psi at 3600 / 4000 psi on the tank fill pressure.

If you're filling up to 2900psi I doubt you'll get 6 fills from a 10 minute, 3000psi tank. In fact I more than doubt it. I have a 15 minute SCBA, 4500 tank (ONLY one I've ever seen! ) in my backpack & I only get 4 or 5 useable refills to pressure in the field with it. The 3K tank MIGHT give 2 or 3.
Thanks for the info Gerry52. I am assuming you are refilling a Marauder pistol as well? My compressor maxes out at 4500 psi but I have no idea how long it would take to fill a 10 minute or a 30 minute tank from 1400 psi to 4500 psi or even if it is a bad idea to do so as I have never owned an tanks.

I think I will likely go with a 30 minute tank for the smallest option as it is more versatile, though IF the 10 minute tank is 11 cubic feet (can't find the volume) and filling it to 4500 psi isn't that difficult, I could get 20 refills on the Prod if this calculator is correct. https://www.airgunsofarizona.com/Tanks/FillCalc.html

When I had my Marauder .25 I used the AirVenturi 100 cu in.
Shouldn’t be to hard on smaller compressors. Only negative is the price but it’s everything you need for field refills.

@Geezerhood, those 10 min tanks you're referring to are only 3,000psi (the ones @qball mentioned) so after your 1st fill you'd probably be below 2900psi. No, I don't have a Prod. Closest thing to it I've ever had was a .22 Mrod.

While it will drop quicker it still will have more than enough shots OP is looking for except the need to fill slightly more often. Plus OP doesn’t have a big compressor for the bigger or higher pressure bottles, that compressor can only fill guns so a small lower pressure bottle might work out better, he can even leave it tethered paintball style.

If the OP has the coins and the compressor for the 4500 psi bottle then he definitely should.

Thanks for the further explanation and suggestions guys. I will do some more thinking over the weekend. At the moment I am leaning towards a used 45 minute or 60 minute carbon fiber 4500 psi SCBA. I found these volume numbers on GTA.

30 minute cylinder = 45 cu ft.
45 minute cylinder = 66 cu ft.
60 minute cylinder = 88 cu ft

My pump's max pressure is 4500 psi. It takes me about 12 minutes to fill my 580cc bottle from 2000 psi to 3600 psi and only a few minutes to fill the Prod from 1400 to 2900. What fill pressure on a 4500 psi 66 cubic foot tank would be realistic with this GX CS3? I don't mind if it takes a few hours with short filling sessions separated by cooling sessions, as long as I don't ruin my compressor. At most I would probably only need to fill it once a week. I usually shoot at home or close to my vehicle, using the compressor to refill.

The nearest filling station for tanks is over 100 miles away, so that isn't really an option, though I know I would love having a large tank on hand and not have to refill it myself with the small compressor.
