backyard bucket 'n sticks fun

Well, hunting seat & bipod, but you knew what I meant :).

Have been doing more shooting from that position lately. The Cricket carbine was probably feeling neglected, a couple other rifles have taken precedent for several weeks. So I gassed her up for a quick ride in the backyard. Finally a break in the rain, still overcast but no wind worth mentioning, which was nice. Target lasered at 52 yards even, one full magazine (14) per bull. The 10 ring on these is 0.89", so each group right around an inch center to center, maybe even a hair under.

Has been interesting working up a good position for holding steady on the sticks, took more experimenting than I thought it would. Still have to work on consistency, probably always will. That's ok, like all shooting it's a process I find enjoyable.

Gotta brag a bit on the rifle, just does it's thing shot after shot, fill after fill. Over 5k shots on it in the short time I've had it, & not a bad flyer to speak of which wasn't my fault. Or the wind, 16 grainers aren't exactly breeze busters. Suppose I have to claim those too, for not reading it right (which I seldom do)!

Wish they were all like that but a decent breeze opens them up, especially if it's variable- and it almost always is here. Equipment sure up to the task, but the driver needs to get better at reading the curves ahead!
Know what you mean about the driver, once in awhile mine misses the whole corner, but definitely improving.
