Umarex Backyard Notos fun

Had a little fun this afternoon/evening. Shot the Notos for the first time from a rest, cheap Caldwell 7 rest, also have some bags on order but havent arrived yet. I have only shot this offhand before and almost all my shooting in my life has been off hand.

I'm really impressed with how the Notos performed. Target was 36 yards out and using Crossman Premier Ultra Magnum pellets, 14.3 grain. Just using a UTG Bugbuster scope.

Pic's attached are all bottom right target from Notos, the middle hits are offhand groups from some barrel breaks and my son with his non-scoped Velox 😒

Using the factory 7 round mag, don't like the factory mags but both of the better options I tried won't clear the scope. Planning on getting higher scope rings. This is the group I shot. The only mag I got to shoot with the Notos tonight as the rest didn't arrive until late this evening.

Don't hate on the resting on my knee pillow setup lol

NIce shooting. The Notos is definitely accurate. I enjoy mine as well. As to the magazines, have you tried higher capacity CARM magazines. They work very well and hold 12 rounds. The factory mags in mine had problems from day one.

My factory mags have also given me issues since day one. I have 2 Maple mega capacity and one Orion 11 shot capacity, neither of them clear my scope. Was thinking of trying the Carm mags, but also thinking I need to get higher scope rings.

Big Air Precision out of KS has 12 shot mags for $25 each, no shipping or tax. I have a bug buster on mine with the standard rings with no clearance issues.

I just ordered 2 of them tonight. Thanks.

I will say the stock mag has gotten better, you can still feel how rough it feels trying to load the pellet into the chamber. Can only imagine how deformed the skirts get

I found that taking the OEM mag apart and adjusting the tension made a big difference.

Regarding the Big Air Precision mags, I'm grateful that a fellow AGN member is offering up a very good product and price. Always good deals around the holidays for everything.

Well the Big Air 12 shots mags just arrived today and they also don't clear the scope 🤦🏻‍♂️ Defintely need higher scope rings at this point. Atleast when I do get higher rings I'll have a bunch of extra mags 😆 2 Maple Mega capacity, 1 Orion, and 2 Big Air 12 shots.

Any recommendations on rings that will clear? It's a UTG Bugbuster scope.

Stack quarters on your pic rail and set the scope on top of it until it clears the magazines. Measure how tall the stack of quarters is. Get scope rings at least that high.

I'll give that a try. The big Air are really close, literally a millimeter or two and it should work. I can load the magazines, but it won't cycle, the green inner piece touches the scope just enough to not let it cycle

Which BugBuster do you have? Mine is 3x12 with stock rings and no clearance issues with BigAir 12 magazines.

Same one. I just moved the scope on the rail and it just clears now. Will try sight it in tomorrow and see how comfortable the new scope placement feels. Maple still doesn't clear with the change.
