Bait for Racoons?

I'm in an urban area on 1-acre, and Racoons are constantly digging up my mulch beds. I catch 'em on a Ring camera and they're always close up to the house. I wouldn't be able to walk out my patio door without spooking them off, so I want to draw them out away from the house out by my shooting backstop which is 30 yards away so I can shoot them from the patio.

Any recommendations on what to put out there to attract them?

Baiting trash pandas onto their closing & final performance stage. We use staked avocados that they munched on prior to tonight's visit, so the eats have their own scents. The avocados are anchored by a wood screw into the seed-pit, wrapped fine gauge wire anchored by a foot long rebar. In season we'll add some old peaches or pomegranates for their final curtain call. The general baited stage is lit by 40 watt green lights, producing just enough light for the show.

"Maybe your neighbor garbage?"

there's a reason they are called "trash pandas" :) And they seem to love what ever's in my trash bags. Thinking of building an enclosure to keep them out of my trash cans. Geting tried of the morning clean up ritual during the summer. The bears that come by to visit are mcuh more polite....

The scoundrels around here seem to have a Carb fetish...
They go out of their way to dig out any kind of bread, biscuits, rolls, etc, of course adding insult to injury the bastards leave the plastic bags strewn about..
I took that rather personal, kind of their way of flipping me the bird..

I tried a trick my brother-in-law suggested by spreading cayenne pepper on top of the trash can lids which in turn diverted them to the not so friendly fire zone that I had set up to send them to the purgatory they so richly earned....

Thanks for your replies. I think the sunflower seeds or some food that is staked down would do it. Don't want the bandits to do the take home meal. I have to check to see if my near the patio lamp post light gives enough light to be able to see them at 30 yards. I've got a flood light if it doesn't, but that might spook 'em. Eradication plan in progress!

you might take a piece of scrap plywood and screw dinner down so they have to stay and eat
