I tried to open airgunfourms.co.uk and got this message "Messing members about on the sales section" No idea what it was about.

I was able to send a message and got a reply that it was about a chrony I had advertised. When I asked for an explanation he sent a copy of the ad under my username. Strange thing is that I have never visited their sales site, tried to sell anything on that or any other fourm for that matter . The add was for a Garmin chrono. I explained that I had never seen such a unit or tried to sell one and that my chrony was a prochrono DLX . Have not heard anything back.

I just wonder how someone could post a sales ad under my name.
 
Nope, nothing like that. Just a date, Mar 3, 2025 and a short description saying new condition, only used a few times , comes with box and accessories.
Looking a supposed question to me , I allegedly answered "I haven’t updated my profile, I live in the UK now" the first part is true, second is false. I replied to Peter, I guess a site moderator, that I have been living in Texas since 1979 and did spend a few months in the UK back in early 1991 when I was posted to a USAF contingency hospital there for Desert Storm.

Sure does sound like someone copied/hacked/pretended whatever your account. IT has happened even here I believe. If they didst know you at all (newbie to there) nuking any account that seems like you/yours seems a reasonable security move. The scammers are truly a pain for the folks running any site these day's.
Maybe you can start yet another account with all different info, pic, name -"I live in TX" ?- and chat. These day's on foreign forums I most just read.

In all honesty the mods are pretty decent there, considering the crap they get.
Something can be sorted
