Baracuda 8 .177

Have yet to even see a US retailer even listing them on their website and saying "Coming soon". Got an itch to try some myself in the couple .177 rifles I still have but I'm like that whenever I see a new pellet come to market.
I was hoping one of our European colleagues may have earlier access than we do. Nothing showing yet on the majors like PA, AoA, etc.

That said, if you are itching to try some new entries in 8gr then PA has the new Polish OlympiaShot and Brazilian Rifle Premium Pellets. I’ve tried the Polish ones but not in all of my rifles. They are ok in the TX200, but JSBs still better.

PS. ZAN is coming out with a new pellet line but they will probably be on the heavy side like the JSB Heavies or Monsters.

I have some of the Rifle Premium 8.33gr pellets. Shot quite well from my Beeman R7. I'll have to take a look at the Olympiashot.
Here's one thread from a UK forum although it looks like more than a few of the shooters are using them in sub 12 pcp's:

Thanks for the link and the card for the Brazilian pellets. Guess I’ll be adding some of the Brazilian pellets to my next order.

By the way the 10gr FX pellets are exceptional in my Wolverine, worth a try if you have any guns that need heavy pellets and already likes the JSB Heavies.

Our importers ordered the Baracuda 8 as quickly as possible. Unfortunately it always takes some time before new pellets are commercially available in the USA. The transport time alone is approx. 2 months from door to door.

Best regards

That I understand, but us European guys still can't find them available.

Yes, the UK guys have them, looking good. Not so good for us European testers. Non available.

This year, the European FT is in Bulgaria, hopefully my Brit brothers will bring me a few to test.

At every European open I've always had a selection of pellets for testing. Not so with the barracuda 8. More elusive than a air arms XTI50.
Intentional?

Yes, H&N have always been good sponsors but a pellet directly aimed at FT shooter's. Pun intended. Not available European wide.

As a Bulgarian ft shooter who this year will be a marshal on the European FT championship I'm disappointed.

Rant over, look after your larger audience.

Well, it's not that simple. Importers are independent companies. They have to decide for themselves whether (and when) they want to order new products from us - or not. We can try to persuade them, but we cannot force them. Unfortunately, pellets are economically rather uninteresting products compared to air guns or optics.

In Europe we delievered so far to the UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Poland. More will follow soon.

Best regards

I'm in no hurry to get them. My current best .177 pellet is the no longer made H&N Sniper Medium pellets, which shoot lights out in the 3 .177 rifles I still have and have a very healthy stash of them.
I've tried others and have several that shoot well in all 3 rifles, just interested in trying the Baracuda 8's to see how well or maybe not well they'll shoot.

The UPS truck showed up yesterday and dropped off some H&N Baracuda 8 pellets, yippee!

So far I've only tried them at close range in a TX200 and the results are great! My TX200's favorite pellets are usually the JSB Exact 8.44s followed by the QYS Domed but based on a 30 shot test these new H&N Baracuda 8s are doing slightly better than the JSBs. Hopefully, that consistency translates to Field Target ranges too!

Here is a line-up that includes RWS Superdomes, Olypmia Domed Heavy, Norma Golden Trophy FT, QYS Domed, H&N Baracuda 8 and FT, and JSB Exact. Care to guess which is which?
