This all metal replica is a must have. The ultimate BB gun! If you have not seen one of these you need to watch this. Tons of fun and almost free to shoot. Here is my full review of the Barra 400E .177 caliber BB machine gun. Thanks for watching! -Nate

I am looking at the polymer version to save a few bucks. looks like more fun than one should have with their clothes on. Mark
I've got the gen1 metal version and I would also opt for the polymer version were I to do it again. IMO, one of the few flaws that the 400e has is that it's too heavy for a bb gun. That does make it seem more realistic, but I think a lighter gun would be nicer.

The weight and the price put me off on that model. What bbs work best in these guns?, have not seen anything much said other than steel bbs. Mark

I’ve tried most varieties of BB’s and except for the lead H&N excites, which it didn’t seem to like at all, (bad accuracy), the rest of them seem to shoot about the same and all of them have been reliable for me. If you add a little silicone spray to the BB’s in the speed loader they will load more easily.

I’d recommend the big bottles of Daisy BB’s as they are very cheap and seem to work as well as any, their precision ground shot included. They’re also the type of BB’s that Barra recommends.

I don’t like the Crosman Copperhead BB’s because they seem to be very prone to rust.
