I spend a ton of time in here and the web, still researching, does it ever end, but not definitive in what I'm finding regarding 500, 600 and 700mm barrels, pellet weight and caliber. I'm specifically looking at a wildcat or maverick in either .22 or .25 and the use of heavier pellets and/or slugs. I've always had a thing for heavy for caliber, be it slingshot ammo, bullets, arrows etc.

I'm sure I'm overthinking things and should just ask what it takes to get xyz at blank fps with accuracy. Pushing a 28.5 or 30 zan, or something similar, in .22 would make me happy. A mid to upper 30's in .25. I imagine a 700mm is the easy choice but not sure I want that long of a barrel. Is it realistic to manage enough velocity out of a 500mm or 600 mm barrel? Don't be dumb and just shoot hybrids out of a 500? I'm real tempted to just split the difference and get a VP for the 600mm and upgrade the bottle later.
