How about we post pictures ,or if like my basement mess no pictures ,of your range in this type of environment ?
MY basement range is only an open door to test fire to the outside world but i have (same door) under the screen porch just outside a 10 meters target.

My totally unphotogenic indoor range is 10 meters diagonally across my basement. A cardboard box packed with rags for a backstop (the boxes don't last long but the seem to last forever) and 10m pistol and rifle targets and that's it. Just stand in the corner and shoot (offhand, of course).

Mine consist of a box with old clothes stuffed then taped up and placed where ever I can make room to shoot. Usually on top of a cat tree in my living room at about 20ft lol. Fyi the cat hates me.

I’m able to squeeze out 15 yards in my basement. I made a 19x20 wooden frame and packed it with duct seal.

Yep, as noted in the past.
My "range" is what I have to work with, good or bad, it's what I have.

Across the living room, down the hall into a foam archery target.
IF...I dare, I can open the back door, and step out as far as about 30 yards more, but haven't as of yet. The city police said that it, "might not be too good of an idea" !!

We had a lovely property which we had to sell when I got cancer. No neighbours only bigger properties. Abundant wildlife, very peaceful. Only person who went up our dirt road was usually the post lady. If I dropped of the perch there was no way my wife could look after it.

25 metres down side of house, usually out of the wind.

25 to 35 metre, also out of the wind most

Portable target.

40 metres

80 metres to last mango tree.

60 metres to dam inflow

No shoot zone, big bugger hung around for years. Had me bluffed.

100 metres to back of dam wall.

Could have had longer ranges but I’d have to cut down my bush down at the creek. Did not want to do that.

8 meters range in my boat house when shooting indoors, - but man do I have to tidy up this mess soon.....
Edit: And of course, my “range” at work. Evenings, when I got the building to myself, 64 meters range, that is plenty of yards.

18 yards upstairs or downstairs inside, up to 30 yards outside. DiY pellet trap with extra extra backstop behind inside.

Just had to do a repack after a pass through after over 3k rounds of various power levels (mostly around 12ftlbs)

With the weather turning cold it's getting the point where shooting outside will not be fun any more. I have thought about trying to make someplace inside in the basement to shoot during the winter. My concern is the lead dust. Is this something to be worried about?
