Basic FT scope

Alright guys I have my rifle back in hand, and working on a few more small things for it, but I am now looking for an optic. As much as I would LOVE a March or something like that I can't afford that for this rifle. So if someone wants to donate one it would be much appreciated!! LOL.

I have the Anschutz 8002S2 set up for 12 ftlb right now, and plan on using it for some hunting as well. So a multi purpose rifle at the end of the day.

What scopes do you guys recommend that wont break the bank, but still work great. Are there any shorter scopes that work in your opinions? Something like the optisan or something like that would be great for hunting, but not so much with the FT side of things.

Need Ideas guys!

The rifle in question. I am going to be adding a carbon shroud next week when material gets in. So the barrel will have a carbon shroud that extends just past the air cylinder.

If you want something that works quite well for the least out of pocket I would go with the Vector Optics 10-40x50.
I have several and not a bad one yet.

229 non IR

or Illuminated reticle for 235

If you want a real FT scope at a great price, they also have a 12-60 for 499

I have NO AFFILIATION with Vector Optics in any way. I have just been very impressed with the cost to performance ratio on the ones I have.
All above focus down to 10 yards.

Edit: as an added bonus, the Minotaur is a 34mm tube which gives more vertical adjustment than most other FT scopes until you get to something like a Delta Stryker at $1600.00

Looking at scopes now, and I just got to thinking about mounts.

Being as the rifle doesn't have any kind of mount on the front part of the receiver I am needing a cantilever mount. Would like something that I can use with the Hawkings Rings I already have, but open to a one piece mount. So what do you guys think?

AJP makes droop compensated one piece scope riser rails for the 8002.

Heck I can go with a Helix for now and see if I ever need to upgrade.

Probably more than likely only be used in my back yard for plinking and fun anyway. I need to get down to Minneapolis and shoot with the FT guys down there
ABSOLUTELY! We shoot on the 2nd Saturday of each month, April thru October at Oakdale Gun Club. Be good to see you woggie! Uj

Found a scope for the rifle, and added some "Snazz" to the barrel as well. Cut back the outer sleeve and added a full carbon shroud. Still have to make an insert, but over it shoots and is smooth.

Scope is an Element Helix and the rings should be here Saturday. So hopefully will add more pictures then. If not to snowy and gross out, will get some pictures outside

If you are going to dial your scope then get Helix hands down. If you are just shooting in the back yard using reticle then go with vector with illuminated reticle FFP version for under 200.
