Battery powered GX CS4?

Target Forge did a YouTube where he modified a GX CS2 to run on Dewalt 18V batteries. You can also just buy one set up for Makita batteries. You can even get an adapter and use DeWalt or Milwaukee batteries in it. But what if you prefer the longer running more powerful GX CS4? Seems like you'd have to do that yourself. The extra 100W of the CS4 means the battery won't last as long but I've got some big Milwaukee 18V batteries. I don't have a CS4 yet but if I get one I'll probably try it. Thoughts?

You can put two of those adapters together to parallel them to increase battery capacity. I built a 50ah lifepo4 battery in an ammo can with xt60 connectors to run several items off of and then came into 400cubic feet of cylinders and don't carry a compressor anymore.

I have one of those orange chinesium toauto 12v compressors and a pile of m18 4. 0 batteries since I'm phasing out 18v milwaukee for work, maybe I will get some some adapters and set one up for fun.

As I remember Target Forges video he got a dock for the battery and also a solid state device to limit the 18V battery to what the pump wants. I don't remember if that is 12V or 14V. He got the parts from Amazon.

With a big enough battery nearly any compressor can be portable. I have a 120V battery pack that will run my Yong Heng. But it's too big and heavy to be truly portable. The CS4 isn't.

I ran my Chinese compressor off a dewalt battery and it pumps my Airgun up much faster than the 120v wall plug.

I did a little googling and I think I found what Target Forge used. If you search Amazon for a 18V to 12V step down converter I think you will find them. The good news is some even had the battery dock too and were only about $25. The bad news is the biggest I saw was only rated for 240W. That would probably be fine on the GX-CS2 but you'd probably blow the fuse with a 350W CS4.

Searched a little more and found a 30A, 360W one on Alliexpress for about $25 delivered.

I also found what I call the battery dock on Amazon with a 30A fuse for $10. So for about $35 it seems you could do this. I checked out the watts for some 18V tools and it can be over 1000W so a 350W CS4 should be a fairly light load for the battery.
