I bought a used gasoline powered Oceania. It pumps to 3200 PSI then some type of regulator begins to bleed off the pressure.
So I guess it was set up for scuba tanks. I have a SCBA so I want 4500 or so. So how can I raise the pressure? I assume that the Oceania can handle 4500, and the only difference is this pressure relief valve?
Thanks, Ter
Most dive tanks fill to 232 bar pressure so most Bauers are factory set for that pressure. I think you have a Bauer Oceanus which has a P21 triplex filter housing. It isn't a complex procedure to increase the pop-off valve's release pressure. The top of the housing has a wire which is clamped onto two of the four threaded allen head bolts that hold the cap in place . That wire is to keep the pressure adjustment from being tampered with. If you do an online search for Bauer compressor pressure adjustment you will see that after that wire is removed the cap can be removed to reach the setting adjustment. Two 13mm spinner wrenchs are needed to adjust the pressure. Once the cap is removed, the top lock nut is loosened and the bottom nut is turned clockwise to allow more pressure before the pop-off valve releases pressure. It isn't difficult to adjust but you should make the increases in small increments until the desired pressure is reached.
