I see Bullet central sells the tensioner and shroud separately. I have the Maverick 700mm and was looking at maybe adding a tensioner but here is the question. I see these are sold separately so do yo have to buy both or does the FX shroud work over the BC tensioner? I don't see anything mentioned on their website about needing both. I thought I saw a longer air stripper but maybe that was with the shroud itself? EDIT: Maybe I should have posted this in the barrel sub...

I have a .25 cal Maverick in 700mm as well and had both the shroud and tensioner in my cart when they had their 20% off sale but then got side tracked and never checked out. UGH I see they sell them separately and also as a kit. I was going to buy both pieces but I assumed the CF shroud was more for looks than anything else. I'm sure if you reached out to BC directly they would answer this. They seem like a friendly bunch to talk to!!

They're closed today. I don't mind CF bling but it's not that important to me either. Was hoping someone who had bought this knew for sure.

I ordered one, off of what I remembered about the bc tensioner, and from memory it is larger and longer like the non tensioned fx shroud allowing some sound suppressing. The fx tensioned barrel sleeve does away with the sound suppressing chamber. Thus is a little shorter and smaller diameter than the standard fx shroud.

But I think you are better off using a spacer on the original shroud between the shroud and the main part of the gun where it goes in if you are thinking of going to the fx tensioner. With the fx tensioner, the change in POI each time you attempt to remove the moderator but accidentally unthread the tensioner nut will drive you crazy, especially if you are not the anal type to make a mark on the fx tensioner, and clock it at the same spot. This is the reason I bought the bc tensioner. Since the 800mm barrel I bought came with a fx tensioner and not a shroud. I'm hoping the bc tensioner works better than the fx tensioner.

Do you happen to know what the OD of the BC shroud is? I have a Gigarail installed and keep seeing the fx tensioner kit seems to include a different top rail.

Called BC and they said the tensioner will work with stock maverick shroud over it. I'm just not a big fan of the CF look and like the black better than the cf shroud..Could be painted though if the tensioner/cf shroud has to be combined to work. Just confused about what I've read about different lengths and diameters I guess.
