BCSA (Binghamton, NY) - May 13th, 2023 Match Report
Broome County Sportsmens Association (BCSA) 2023FT Season has begun!!
The 13 competitors for the day satrted to arrive around 7am. There was plenty of catching up to do and little show and tell. Always great to see everyone after our long winter hiatus!!!
The course of fire was 10 lanes with 3 targets per lane. 2 shots per target with the shooting order being left, middle, right. There was also the usual 1 standing lane and 1 kneeling lane. The stats for the days 60 shot course are as follows:
There were no cold lines….well any that were due to a problem. We did call a cold line near the end of the match to set 3 additional targets. These targets are for our upcoming foray into High Power Field Target. We set them out around 40 - 45 yards and told people to take shots at them after they completed their match. One was a 2” KZ Paul Porch target that was donated by one of the club members and 2 others were modified Gamo targets that will be used. A good little way to end the match and a good test for falls with low power hits. Actually, a few competitors had there HP rigs with them and helped with the real world testing! Things are looking good!
Nice weather for the day! Temps started in the low to mid 50’s and rose to the mid 70’s. Wind was light to moderate to non existent….Tricky conditions! Brian Van Liew came out with Match High……..with a 53 out of 60 in Open PCP. Second highest score for the day went to Doug Rogers in Hunter PCP with a score of 41. Right behind Doug was Chuck Senkus and Jim Danvers both with 39 and Tom Wade with 36. A nice little cluster of scores there in Hunter PCP! The scores for the rest of us can be seen below.
After the conclusion of the rifle match, more people took shots at the added 3 targets and just wound down. After our little recess, everyone jumped in and helped pick up and pack away the rifle targets and pull the strings for the pistol targets. Thank You All! We then held a drawing to determine our 50/50 winner. After mixing up the tickets in the bucket, Janet Manktelow reached in and picked one. This time around Trevor Davies had the winning ticket!
We had 6 for the pistol/low powered non magnified/practice match! Chuck Senkus shot Hunter Pistol for his first time, Nathan Thomas shot Limited Pistol, Brian Van Liew pulled out his HW97 to get some trigger time with it and Doug Rogers took the time to sight-in and shoot the 3 added targets for a bit with his 0.25 Daystate Wolverine. Bill Campbell and Louis Hopewell pulled out their Umarex Notos and Hatsan Jet both in carbine form for a battle Royale!
The course of fire was 10 lanes with 2 targets per lane. 2 shots per target with the shooting order being left, right. There was 1 standing lane and the stats for the days 40 shot course are as follows:
And as always, after the match was finished, everyone remaining jumped in and we made super quick work of the cleanup! All the help is GREATLY appreciated! Overall it was a great day to spend with our field target friends!
