So, I had a heck of a squirrel problem; they were tearing up my lawn, killing my plants, and undermining my rock wall. So I got a pumper, not accurate enough. So, then a Bobcat, then a DreamTac, then a Raptor etc... 60 or so squirrels later, I only see one or two bobbing their heads up the hill. Geeze, now what do I shoot at?

Paper. Join the chase for precision. Or if you prefer airgun golf buy some cheap gamo squirrel field targets with various sizers and set them up in the trees.

Starlings, house sparrows, pigeons, collared doves. Do some good.

you could always throw down some cheap bird seed and bring in pigeons and starlings.

Put up feeders train and lure in the new ones. Bait stations.

You guys are sad! Picking on these poor little squirrels with this heavy artilery! Several years ago in VA we lived in a wooded neighborhood with bajillions of squirrels. At the time I was into archery big time and would shoot the squirrels under my bird feeders with my bow on a regular basis. My next door neighbor came over one day and said "Tom, I know you kill the squirrels with your bow, and I need your help. The squirrels are in my crawl space over our great room (contemporary house) and we can't get them out. We had an exterminator come by and he couldn't get to them and they're driving us absolutely batshiz crazy. If you'll kill the squirrels living in our crawl space we'll take you out to a steak dinner anywhere in town.' Over the next 2 weeks I killed around 30 squirrels, and all of the ones living in his crawl space. He paid off with the steak dinner and we all lived happily ever after.

I've found flies to be extremely fun to shoot. Smear some jelly or other attractant over the face of a cardboard box @ 20-30 yards and let the pellets fly. Ants will also be attracted!

I believe I will chase the distance/accuracy "ring". I have been utilizing my DreamTac Compacts for most of the shots; the .177 for up to 50 yards and the .22 for beyond. But 68 Whiskey has blown the doors open for range, so I'm gonna follow in their footsteps...

I put out a pile of bird seed. Feeds the native birds and also gives me plenty if opportunity for shots at squirrels, chipmunks and sparrows

Sounds like you have to decide if you are a hunter or an exterminator. A hunter is a tool to control the population. An exterminator wipes things out. A hunter will always have quarry to hunt. An exterminator is always looking for new places to exterminate.

Killing animals — because they are a pest in the context — and eating them afterwards.
