Beeman Beeman R11 (MKI, MKIII & MKIV)

Beeman R11 MKI .177- raised scope rail, right side safety lever, trigger block system similar to HW77/97 and very short forearm. The R11 MKII (not shown here) has the same length stock, no scope rail and push button safety.

R11 MKIII .177- slightly longer stock, no scope rail, push button safety

R11 MKIV .20- full length forearm completely covers breech block. To be honest this one is really an R9 that I have accessorize till it's virtually an R11 now. I'm not a big fan of the .20 cal. but wanted something for the windy FT matches.

lots of testing and a few tweaks it has become a very nice shooter

55 yards 5 shots (pulled one shot ) the 4 shot grouping measured .352''

That is certainly outstanding. I could keep up at 35 no problem but lose me at that 55 yard group. Very nice gun and shooting.

51.5 yds with my 97KT the squares are 1/4'' 

46 yds 5 shots with my Pro Elite while standing and grasping a door frame then placing the rifle on the hand holding the frame  So much for break barrels are not accurate and magnum springers are not either!

I have a R11 I bought new around 2004. It may be the best shooting spring rifle I have and I have many. Still bone stock. My dad has one and it shoots great. I know several others who have HW98s and they shoot great. This whole break barrels don’t shoot as good as underleavers is BS (yes I own under leavers). The reason under leavers gained favor in FT shooting is that longer scopes used back in the day would now allow for the barrel to break open. Now days scopes are shorter than Bushnell 8-32x Elites type scopes so you can break the barrel open to load the rifle. The HW98/R11 is a great rifle that does a lot of things right and much easier to load than an underleaver.

While many may dislike .20 caliber, I'm not one of them and an R11/HW98 in .20 caliber is one of the 3 or 4 on my bucket list, and all of them are .20's. Beautiful rifles you have there, sir

I love the MKIV. I have always preferred a stock that covers the breach block. I love the .20 but hate that there are so few pellet choices.

Have you considered documenting your collection or writing a book on airguns? As stated by specie you may be the only person with much of this history and knowledge. Nigel Woodward was a recent loss to the airgun community and he absolutely takes a tremendous history with him. If we collectively wish to preserve these guns for the next generation it is incumbent upon us to pass the history along with the guns. I am beginning to write short files for each of my few guns to capture their favorite ammo and speed along with who I purchased it from, When and for how much along with any pertinent history I may have. How common or rare, tuned by, parts changed etc. 

I am 52 and only have about 15 airguns only about 5 of which will carry any historical value yet I am feeling a growing responsibility to identify what should happen to my guns for the next custodian. The 80's/90's Beemans, FWB's, AA's etc seem to hit the sweet spot for me. I have been involved in muscle cars for many years and have watched as some literally irreplaceable cars have been passed down to people who had no knowledge or appreciation for what they received.

Thanks for the compliments guys, nice to be appreciated and recognized. I was friendly with Nigel and had numerous chats with him on FB, I was very sad to hear about him and contacted his new wife with condolences. My entire collection is earmarked for my son and everything is well documented. I've thought about doing the YouTube thing but have not as yet. Funny when some members think I do not know what I'm talking about and even try to ridicule me with their "research" and "deep internet dives" only to wind up looking into a gun and posting info on a gun I was not even talking about. Mind you not like I know everything in fact who does but when I mention something it's usually due to a lot of experience or looking into, many times directly with the source which is exactly what everyone should do when possible.

Always wanted one of those "R10" based R11s. The Marksman branded R10 had that same safety didn't it? And are they resettable?

Never heard of an R10 based R11??? If you are referring to the MKI it is just that a MKI. I think the safety is resettable but I have not had much time shooting it since it needs a tune due a substantial twang and I can not remove the main nut for fear of snapping it off and I have found no way to replace it. I need to try again with more heat but last time it would not budge :/ Not sure about the Marksman brand, I don't own any...

The only gas ram Beeman's I have or would personally touch are actually Theoben's.
