Beeman Tempest Grips

One of the grips has broken and is loose,

I need new grips either factory or upgraded.

Doe's anyone know a source and are the Webley models compatible with the Beemans? Thanks.

JG Airguns doesn't show any in stock, I'd check with Chambers in the UK.

Beeman-labeled Tempests have no differences from other British-made ones except for the name on the fore end. The Hurricane's grips are also identical to the Tempest's.

Thank you, I'll check with Chambers. Hopefully transport is back close to normal. For awhile getting things from Europe was iffy.

I know of such a place that has most all of the parts your Tempest will ever need ...just rebuilt both of mine and changed one to a .22

i have to laugh, another old thread bought back from the dead but in this case i am just finishing a Tempest myself and i bought new grips and bought a .22 barrel with some other parts from Knibbs they are my go-to for parts and Chambers and Protek
an interesting pistol to work on, not easy but not hard, lots of pin to line up
i will be putting a wide trigger in my other Tempest and my Hurricane

would have gotten back to you sooner ...but I am a new member and just saw the post...I was looking for the wood grips....that has been a treasure hunt...That's the place ...they have most things ...some of the parts are a little rough ...shape edges and had to rework them to get them to fit properly...on one of my pistols I put a .177 barrel from a Hurricane model ...it is a little longer with the hooded front site...the barrel catch would not fit no matter what I did..the part looked like a 10th grader made it in shop class...my first one I bought it brand new going back 42 years now and still looks and works great...at the time of purchase...for 17 dollars they offered a super tune up job ...so it went right back to the Factory...it was a hole different gun when I got it back...they broke it in with 1000 rounds ..special grease on the main spring...smoother cocking even the trigger felt different ...I bought a few extra front plastic front covers as they are prone to crack on the bottom ...I have many air guns but the Tempest is the coolest looking...they have been used in many Sci Fi Films... makes a good Ray Gun...in the processes of tricking out my latest 3 PCP guns...FX Impact M4/Sniper..Hatsan Blitz 777 Full Auto and a Reximex RPA Pistol...

oh i agree some of the parts needed to be fix and or polished and reblued but that is what we do to fix or make better old guns
i bought a wide trigger and reworked it today it looked to be sand cast and coated with i'm not sure what it had a lower than normal magnetic attraction so i polish the side of the blade and that was it
there is a maker in the UK that makes nice grips but i have never got any for the one Tempest, i have Beeman grip for my Hurricane and my other Tempest

give him an email i am not sure if he is still making them but many years ago i emailed him and he was a very nice guy

i hate to say it but grips that are broken and fixed are still grips that are broken and fixed
are they useable SURE but for some that is not good enough
the Tempest that i have been working on had a crack in one of the grips and super glue repaired that crack very well but when i got my parts from Knibbs there was a new set of grips
so, now the next owner of the pistol will have a backup set but the pistol has a new set, it is a pride thing with me

Why sell it for what they are selling for ...it will last another 30 years...pass it down in the Family

those are Grips Beeman sold at least one of the styles 10 to 15 years ago you could find then on Ebay all the time but those days are long gone
i have an old rule
if you see something that looks good as in grips just buy them many of us would have no use for them but we could down the road and grips like are for the Webley will never lose value

there are lots of people out there that making custom wooden grips...I like the Rose wood that they used ...I could have boughting them back in the days...but after seeing what they can make now a days ...it's up 10 levels better.....with today's CNC and Cad programs they can scan your grip and let the machine do it's thing..probably take them less than a hour ...and a little hand sanding...check out the stock Factory grips on a Weihrauch HW45 air pistol ...they probably make 500 sets a day..... I am waiting on a Reximex RPA..With Walnut Wood ...CNC Made...the days of the wood whittler's is old school

I’m not aware of any CNC shops that make wood grips for the tempest. Obviously you can have anything made… if you’re willing to pay the price. Although it would cost you more than the tempest is worth for a machine shop to 3d scan the grip and setup the tooling to make one set of grips. If you put together a large order you could bring the price down. I just can’t see a shop taking on a project like this due to low profit per piece. Don’t count out the whittler. The overseas whittlers may be your only option to have a reasonably priced set of grips.

@marflow 777 are your grips factory or aftermarket? The marking on my grips are different than yours.
