They're shooting at bell target

MUST READ!

I can almost hear the “Ding” of the bell with a chorus of “Huzzah!” and “good show, old chap!"

We shot the Bell quite a bit with LD's collection of old BSA's and Sheridans with pretty good success with modern ammo. I still think it's pretty amazing that they shot so competitively with ammo from that era. I've not seen any but did start out with the Crosman garbage in the mid 70s and Benjamin - which was quite a leap in quality but still mediocre. Wasn't till around 78 that I first heard of RWS and H&N through Beeman and was able to achieve much better accuracy...

???????????? shooting at a flat vertical plate , i would think ricochets , but i shoot 50 yards and under so it is a concern.
We use the Bell Targets primarily for the Offhand lanes. Having a STEEL plate on the face anchored to WOOD, the face plate really does not throw ricochets but has a solid thud absorbing the pellets energy.

I tried various metal targets with poor results. Then I stumbled across a device from Hornady that lights up when it detects an impact on the target. I picked up a pair to try next spring.

HIT® Target Impact Indicator
SKU: 97300
$17.99
Ultra-bright light indicates bullet impact on distant steel targets. • Visible up to 1000+ yards with naked eye (weather-dependent). • Easily attaches to most stands with included elastic band. • Rechargeable using micro-USB. • Morse code "H-I-T" blinks for impact distinction •••• •• −. • Accelerometer detects bullet vibrations for activation
