Benchrest pcp

Not trying to start a debate here......but is there generally a "best/super accurate" pcp for benchrest shooting? I know the fx boss did good last year. What about a raw hm1000x benchrest model? There may be something out there I havent heard of. I want my next pcp to be laser accurate at longer ranges out to 100 yards.......if that is even possible. I know you can win the lottery with individual rifles showing insane accuracy.......but where would my best chance for laser accuracy reside for longer ranges? All input appreciated.
 
I would try and personal message Michael . He goes to extreme benchrest and could probably steer you in the right direction . He's a really good dude , and a good shot to boot !! If any of the other competition there chimes in that'll be a big help . Or look online for the results , I think you will see a LOT of the top competition use only a few different guns .

irideOn the bench rest shoots ? I thought that was all 177, Or is that just world competition .
Is it broke down to springer's, pumpers, and PCP guns? Or every one shoots at the same beer bottle? LOL. (Texas Joke)

Best accuracy period. Only pcp. Would have to be a larger caliber for sure to reach out there. I have a .22 pcp that will dime 10 shots at 50yrds in ideal conditions. That is my hunting rig. Im looking for even more accuracy and range......something I could compete with.......and enjoy shooting off the bench.

Awww Joe... Jamaican me blush!

I'm flattered that you think so highly of me, but truth be told; just because I placed 13th in the 100 yard EBR event last year (18th between the classes), I'm not an expert long range shooter. There are plenty of other shooter that know a lot more than I do.

That being said, I will drop my 2 cents. IMO the best calibers for long range shooting are .25 or .30. And typically longer/heavier airguns seem to get better results.

At this point Im looking at a fx laminate boss or a hm1000x .30 caliber. Im going to call raw next week and see if they can do the hm1000x .30 caliber in the benchrest stock. That is.....the stock with the parrallel forearm and flat underside of the butt. Im sure they can but its not on their website. May go with an airstripper instead of a ldc too. Between these 2 right now...............

What class are you going to shoot in? If you are sticking with sanctioned matches per USARB or WRARB, then you are limited to .177 or .22. The .177 is more accurated IMO. There are darn few long range matches using larger caliber rifles in this country. Mostly in Phoenix, if you are lucky enough to live near there.

That said, you'll get lots of opinions as to what guns are most accurate. Just check out the match results and see what people are using. RAWS, Thomas, USFT, FWB, and FX seems to be most popular. But it all boils down to the nut behind the trigger. Not only do you need good equipment, but you have to practice at this, a lot!

Personally, I'm using an RAW HM1000 in .177 cal. and am experimenting with a TM1000 with the new polygonal barrels that are now being offered. The Thomas guys are doing very well too.

As jp said, .177 and .22 for sanctioned BR , no larger cal. allowed. Now if it's informal .25 may well be THE easiest ( but it aint easy friend, not in the real world) to shoot small long range groups with.
RAW would be the only production airgun ( I would call the Thomas a production airgun ) you'll likely find where the owner of the company personal assembled and tested your rifle. And certainly RAW will use any stock they make on any action. I went with a .30 and the LRT stock for BR ( informal) but I probably should have gotten the .25 for my needs.
