Benchrest Setup For Pistol

I started out with a bag filled with rice then I bought a shooting bench with a rest build in but you have to remove it to store the bench & the rest didn't have a quick release so it was a pain to sew it in and out. Next came a $12 tripod I bought during Prime days. Recently I bought a Caldwell Matrix and I really like it. It can be used for both pistols and rifles. That must be one loud pistol or perhaps she is just tuning you out Ross? ;)

What is the rear bag jack you are using? How many shots do you get per fill?
No, not loud. We just believe in protecting what hearing we have. And, well, maybe she might be tuning me out as well! 😂🤣 On rear we use a small jack plate.

Rest both elbows on the bench. Rest the bottom of the grip in the palm of your your non trigger hand to set elevation and windage. Very, very lightly grip the pistol with your trigger hand and send it.

I use a UTG pistol scope which allows for nearly 24 inches of eye relief which in turn allows for a very, very comfortable and steady firing position from the bench.

SHOOTERMEB laser cut two custom Ghost Rings for me. The smallest I use out to 50 meters, the larger diameter I use for greater than 50 meters when the PDC portion of the retical comes into play. Each ring fits into the rear lens cap.

The UTG is a fixed distance parallax scope and a gost ring will center your eye and remove parallax at any distance > 10 yards with this optic.

The .22 cal HW44 with this UTG scope and a Ghost Ring is very accurate out to 100 yards from the bench.

Interesting how every picture posted if of a HW44.
I know Troy can handle that pistol quite well - even out to 100 yards.
Thanks for the compliment SDstephan. But we both know that this setup works so well because it effectively isolates nearly all of the intrinsic faults of a poorly designed stool to trigger interface.
