Benjamin 312

Hello all. I recently picked up a Benjamin 312. It was in pretty rough shape and the last owner used about a quart of oil to try and get the seals to hold pressure. Anyway, after a nights work and a few new parts and seals, the gun is working flawlessly. I'm presently cleaning up the exterior and have a question about the barrel and pump tube. They appear to be possibly nickel or chrome plated. I've searched the different variants and can't tell what the original actually looked like. I'd like to try and polish it out but I don't want to burn through any plating. If anyone is familiar with this gun and has any input on what I should do, I'm open to any and all suggestions. Thanks and stay safe-J Z

Finished cleaning up this rifle. Now it looks the part and shoots quite well.
