Benjamin bulldog stock

Many have been awaiting a Bulldog stock revision for years. I think a large issue with redesigning the stock is figuring how to work the trigger linkage into the stock. That’s just me speculating. I would be enamored with this platform all over again if Crosman/Benjamin could fit the Bulldog with a simple and solid stock.
The stock does work well tho, just ugly. Easy to hydrodip🤣

I know it shouldn't be a hard thing to do ,the design and assembly would be in fact pretty easy.. but the cost would be high .. because you need first a metal linkage like the one on the older crickets with with at least 3 bands.. and then the stock.. I imagine that the metal parts would easily be $500 + another $250+ for a sintetic stock .. so you really be liking your bulldog in order to spend another $800 .. it would be awesome if it could be made cheap.. but it seems that machining long pieces of picatinny rail is really costly... veradium air should make a pre paid . post to see how many would give a non returnable deposit in order to make a few.. I like my bulldog that much .. so I be in for one if the opportunity comes up...

A longer and stronger version of this part would be needed.. ones this is made .. stock options would be endless...

If someone would develop a package for the bulldog that was very simple, similar to the AEA Challenger bullpup, I gladly spend my $$$. A traditionally styled--- wood or composite-- bullpup-stocked Bulldog would easily be worth 2x the cost of a clamshell stocked Bulldog, at least to me.

Make it available and I'll gladly purchase. Prebuy----not for me....not with a small business, at least. Life happens and in spite of the best intentions, prebuys and small businesses are a recipe for disaster.

I'm with you on that one to ..but nobody no even me would dare to make a sets of bulldog kits, because is a powerful but cheap rifle and someone could assume that not to many people would like to spend another $600+ on a bulldog that at the end is your build.. and as I see the market now..people don't buy expensive bulldogs not even me .. I know that my 308 bulldog buid would very hard to even get $1000.. that is the way custom buids re sell goes.. I asked few years ago to the pitbull man it self.. he would not make them. Because he don't see a market for them ..

Understood on all points.

I am anxiously awaiting to read how your .308 build ends up for you. I thoroughly enjoyed the platform in both .357 and .257, as well as thought I was going to do a .457, but ultimately nothing ever materialized and I have become less than enthused with anything Bulldog related.

Soon my carbine cricket will be going out..to make space for a 257 bulldog..in the end I will mostly keep the guns that I could cast bullets for.. there is nothing new in the market that I could be interested.. I'm going backwards I just ordered 3 more barrel for my airforce 2 in .30 .. 1-16 n 1-26 and one in .25 .. 1-22 .. my uragans were the last new pcp for me .. unless someone comes out with a good looking. 224 magazine feed HP bullpub..😄

@mercado My hope is that if a new solid stock is designed that the old/current assembly can be dropped into it. As for spending more for an upgraded Bulldog I’ve been on the fence about it for years. It makes more sense(to me) to buy a used modified Bulldog because there simply isn’t enough of a demand for newly modified Bulldogs to hold their purchase value. Modification costs tend to meet or exceed the price of comparable or more powerful big-bore air rifles. Modified Bulldogs are a small niche in this hobby. Damn good guns though.

@Scotay42 I like how he Bulldog looks. The clamshell construction makes maintenance a breeze. My gripe with the clamshell stock is that it makes noise. I’ve been hunting at night and that damned stock makes unecessary noises that have messed up a stand. It’s mainly the sling mounts and the stock itself. Especially in changing temperatures, if I grip it tightly or move it a certain way it can creak. It is really frustrating to put hours and days into planning a hunt to have something so simple impede success. To be fair, I have not done much to troubleshoot the noise issues. The intricacies of R&D aren’t my strong suit.

Yup .. I could live without the custom stock actually I asked that my build to look like a factory bulldog,.. it doesn't hurt to dream of better looks..the way the world is going is better no to waste more money than necessary..
