Benjamin Durango

Bought my Benjamin Trail from neighbor for $25 because he hated it. Hard to cock, terrible trigger and shot all over. He'd paid over $250 for it and had it less than a year. I cleaned barrel and re-did Crosman trigger from YouTube video. Guy gave me plenty of different .22 pellets he'd tried to get one the gun liked, but none worked for me, either. Beginner's luck led me to H&N Sniper Magnum (17.9 gr) .22 that gun loves. I had to learn the "artillery hold" to make the gun shoot consistantly, but after that all was smooth sailing. Hit a big raccoon raiding another neighbors' trash one night and it dropped dead on the spot. His partner took off and don't think he stopped till next county.

Are nitro pistons less accurate?

They tend to jump around more which makes it harder to shoot them accurately.

Will this gun be able to kill your basic varments

If you can hit them, yes. Up to tree rats, I would say.

Yeah, I can vouch for that. My two NP's are more "jumpy" than my two Springers. I prefer Springers.
