Benjamin Handpump & Hatsan Flash?

HI dudes - newbie here. I got the hatsan Flash QE - lovely gun, and the benjamin hand pump...before I realized its not built for the hatsan.

Anyway - I did buy the correct adapter to fit it into the gun, but the damn pump is not pumping air??

  1. It makes noise, but most air comes out of the hold when I'm up-pumping. That normal?
  2. And as long as I pump, the gauge on the gun doesn't budge
  3. The guage on the pump also is flat-lined the whole time
  4. Yes...I do have the release valve on the pump cinched close (I had it open for a while the first time)

    Any clues?

Man, always ask first. I am sorry. I hate those pumps. Owned about 5 & rebuilt over 20x's I would have told you if no cash for a Hill MKII (don't bother with moisture trap gimmick, pump in dry room where a dehumidifier runss) than get a G6 best deal out there with 2 rebuild kits included & no reason to use anytime soon if you pump 50-60 strokes, let cool, bleed out, start over, keep lubed lightly.

In 8 years of hand pumping, no rust in Discoveries. You must learn to disassemble pump, clean & lube piston every so rarely often. Ask, more knowledgeable guys than I will help also. The Flash is a good deal.

And here’s vid of me w this damn hatsan pump. What the hell is wrong w this setup?? Argh....

I use a $40 ebay hand pump on my Flash and it works but I think I'm having a problem too. The handle goes up and down very easy but the last inch of the down stroke is extremely hard. I'm about 160lbs and I'm using ALL of my body weight for that last inch. But it does work and I'm able to refill my gun. This is my first PCP and high pressure pump so I thought it was normal but I've seen videos of people using hand pumps and they don't seem to work the way mine does.

Is this a common problem with cheap pumps? Or is it just how the cheap pump I got works? Maybe the Flash has some issue that is causing this?
