Benjamin Marauder 25 to Hatsan Carnivore 30

A neighbor decided to downgrade his Carnivore 30 to a 25 caliber. Instead of selling it and buying a 25, we agreed to a trade for one of my Benjamin Marauder 25. The 30 is stock, only 2 weeks old with not even a whole tin thru it (maybe 30 pellets at most). He did warn me that although it say "QE" this 30 is not backyard friendly. I took it out yesterday for a chrony test and... First notice was, yup this thing has a bit more bark to the 25s as a big bore should! Anyway, I'll address quieting it down later. On to the chrony results filled to 200 bar, goal of 14 shots (2 clips), using the JSB 45gr

This is my first Big Bore and certainly impressed with the power it comes with stock. I have seen and read what potential this gun can become but first, will see how it is with targets when my scope rings, and electronic ear muffs for the wifey arrive. Was it worth the trade? Well, I'm starting a new page in my log. So far so good.

For the money, you can't beat the carnivore for a mid bore. If you do any posting or hunting the .30 puts a serious smack down of critters. Congrats and keep us posted.

I own both a .25 Marauder and .30 Carnivore. The Carnivore is definitely louder, and on mine I usually stretch it out to 21 shots. It also goes out every time I go out pesting or hunting even if it doesn't leave the Jeep, and although its not backyard friendly it is still quiet enough to do some night hunting for varmints like Raccoon, Skunk, and Possum.

Toby (Hunterone) recently put up a video of 100 yard groups from his stock 30 cal BT65 and it's pretty impressive. He also did some hunting in the same video. I've gotten some great 100 yard groups from mines too. As soon as the police range schedule clears up I will try to do some scope cam of 100 yard groups.

Blackdiesel- Yes I did see Hunterone's video and was very motivated and hope I got a copy with the same accuracy. I will be mounting the scope tonight and doing a snap zero at 17yds to get a feel how it groups, hopefully. If not, I will this weekend. Looking forward to seeing your 100 yard groups with your scope cam.

Was able to get some target shooting yesterday before dark and was relieved to see good grouping. Even with 3-6mph winds in varying direction toward target, it still kept POI within 1" of POA at 25, 50, 75, and 100yds. Don't see any reason for pellet sorting for this caliber so far. So far so good!!
