Benjamin marauder barrel question

Just be careful when you put the gun away. Try not to lean the barrel up against anything like the wall for extended periods of time or overnight. It can move the shroud and cause the pellets to clip the baffles.
For now shoot your gun and get to know it. If at some point you want to make the barrel a little more secure. You can wrap electrical tape around the shroud where the barrel band sits. But all guns are different. So each person has to determine what works best for them and their type of shooting.

I don't have a Marauder (MRod), but I do have a Fortitude which is based on the PRod. DON'T put tape around the shroud in order to "secure it" to the barrel band. What you WILL get is changing POI shifts as the pressure in the tube changes. As I don't have a Marauder, I can't say for sure that it is intended to have a free floating barrel, but the Fortitude is intended to have a free floating barrel and anything you do that causes the barrel band to make contact with the shroud will cause you grief in the form of POI changes as the pressure changes in the pressure tube.

P.S.

Make sure that the shroud is not touching the barrel band. When I received the Fortitude the shroud was touching the barrel band at about the 2 O'Clock position which caused the POI to change radically as the pressure dropped. Not only up and down, but left and right. Once I centered the shroud in the barrel band, all of those problems went away, although the Fortitude had other problems I had to deal with. Anyway... if the MRod is supposed to have a "free floating" barrel... make sure it IS free floating!

Also, because the barrel is secured inside the shroud, leaning it against something will not cause clipping of the baffles. It may cause POI changes compared to your zero though. If the shroud gets "permanently" moved in some way, it will also move the barrel along with it. If you have baffle clipping issues with an MRod or PRod, then there is something else wrong. If you have added a suppressor/moderator, I am not referring to those. Only the baffles that come with the gun which are inside the shroud.

P.P.S.

There are some posts over at GTA about using an O-ring to do the same thing as the tape idea. Again, if the barrel is supposed to be "free floating", make sure it is. I did some checking and the MRod IS supposed to have a free floating barrel. The barrel band, like on the PRod and Fortitude, is to keep the shroud from be being moved enough to permanently bend it in its mount. There IS going to be some flex, but as long as the shroud is centered in the barrel band (and not touching it in any way) when you take the shot, your POI should be consistent. IMHO, all AGs that have a barrel band attached to the pressure tube will have POI changes due to the changing pressure in the tube if the shroud is touching the barrel band. Of course, I could be wrong and this is just my humble opinion.
