Yep, Don Cothran made me a custom length prod tube at 18.5". Basically 3 inches longer than OEM. Pairs nicely with the WAR moderator installed. I'll upload a pic when it's put together. Waiting for the Huma regulator before assembly.

Much appreciated fellas. I sent him a message last night through his website. Hopefully I will hear back. I'm stationed in Bahrain at the moment, so I wished I had the gun in front of me to see. I'm wanting to get my son and I shooting field target and thought it would be fun to create our own gun. Not sure if you have seen Ray Apelles's gun from team Crossman, but he did the same using a Crossman 1720T. I have a bullpup style design in my head and want to do the same. I'm thinking about buying the parts I need using the 1720T breech block and build my own .177 target gun as well and have a blast doing it. Everything hinges on getting a tube though. Thinking an 18" or 20" barrel. I want to use a LW stainless choked barrel, but haven't found anyone that can do it. Anyone know a place that can do stainless barrel's? Talked to Mountain and he doesn't have the tooling to do stainless, but can do the chrome Molly barrel. Any additional help would greatly be appreciated! Thank you to everyone for helping out.

I have seen pictures of Ray's 1720T. I think it was his go to gun for certain travel restrictions.

Way back when, Marmot Militia made me a long tube for Prod, but that and follow on company, WAR, is gone.

Being you are building a rifle, using a Fortitude air tube can be an option. There would be a few different ways to go. It is about 9 1/2" longer than Prod/1720T air tube, which works well with a shrouded 20" barrel.

Would you happen to know if the pistol trigger group will bolt up to it or is there some work needed to make it work? Also do you know if they are both the same diameter tubes? If so that would help in being able to use some upgraded parts for the marauder.

The pistol trigger assembly, should bolt up and work, but I have never tried it on the Fortitude tube. I did try it on that MM tube, for a very short time, but found it very awkward. On converting to the longer tube, stocked rifle, have always used the Mrod Gen 1 trigger assy. It is better, and especially if you are looking at a competition rifle.

The Prod, 1720T, 1701P, Fortitude, Maximus, and Disco all use the same diameter tube. What can actually bolt up or easily modified to do so, is model dependant.

I found a couple of pictures with the MM air tube and the pistol trigger assy. The Fortitude air tube is a few inches longer. Sorry, about the curve in the camera lens.

Thank you for the picks. I watched a video on the Fortitude this morning. It was in .22, and was giving about 50-60 shots I think, so that tube length would work out. You think the barrel shroud is the same diameter between the two as well? I really want to get a stainless barrel for the weight, look, and possible run no shroud. We'll see. Haven't been able to find a place that will do stainless barrels yet.

This is where those choices, options, and consequences start to come in.

The 1720T breech has a nice wide opening for single pellet loading, but it's O-ring style bolt does not fit in the Fortitude or Prod breech due to lug location. With a Fortitude or Prod breech, I would not recommend a shroud, especially if getting a custom machined barrel where the OD will likely be larger. ie not enough space to provide much quieting effect. It also limits the LDC diameter for barrels that don't extend pass the end of the air tube.

Using a Fortitude air tube with a Prod or 1720T breech, is not a complete drop in. You have to drill the two holes for the forward breech screws, and Dremel one hole to have three valve screws with the matching Prod/1720T valve. Fortitude only uses two.

In allot of ways, starting with a Fortitude base, may be easier. The breech is slightly taller than the prod and 1720T allowing for a Mrod diameter shroud, but is does have the narrow slot that makes single loading harder. To get away from an O-ring in barrel, would require machining on the bolt, typically preferred in competitions. If you want more power than an oem Fortitude, it does require a custom bridge to get a larger plenum.
