Benjamin marauder

Happy new yr guys . I am needing some answers as where to get parts for shorting a mrod in .22 cal . has anyone done this process ? Thanks pics please

I am not really sure what is meant by "shorting" but a guess you meant shortening the shroud? If so I cut mine to the length I wanted and had it threaded but you can also buy them ready made from Tim Hill:

Shortened shroud on my JSAR side lever M-Rod:

My M-Rod Cobra has the Tim Hill 19 7/8 shroud:

Looks good is the barrel same length

If asking me, yes, the barrel is still 20 inches long. It is not wise IMO to shorten the M-Rod barrel as it is sort of on the short side to begin with and it is choked in the last inch or so. The Tim Hill short shroud of 19 7/8 inches reduces the rifle length below 40 inches OAL (39.5). It is possible to reduce the shroud another inch or so and still retain full barrel length leaving only the stripper in position (the spring is still needed) to center the barrel but all of the baffle cones removed. The shroud will not be as effective as a sound suppressor as it is at stock length. At 19 7/8 the shroud remains effective but not as effective. For those who need "backyard' friendly, whatever that means, then an additional suppressor would need to be added. I have found that the 19 7/8 short shroud with the DFL Tanto is more quiet than the stock rifle. And not too bad without for those times I need the rifle to be as short as possible (shooting from a blind, my Jeep, hunting through brush etc.).

The amount of work/money to shorten the Mrod isn't worth it unless you're a tinkerer and enjoy the platform.

Cutting a barrel and shroud isn't too bad or expensive, but then you're left with that fat daddy long tube to deal with. That's when it gets pricey.

I build the smaller brother/predecessor of this gun, the crosman 22xx/Benjamin discovery, all the time and they're money pits. Having custom guns is cool though.

Spend the money on a newer, shorter gun.
