my buddy got one of these as his 1st PCP. al i can say is wow!!!, i cleaned the barrel, mount a 4-16 center point scope on it.... ragged hole at 25m with 10gr JSB.
Just needs some trigger love and a LDC and its a excellent hunter!! 1800-900 psi got 30 shots and very consistent ones too. I installed a Anthony Story LDC off my 2240 to see the differance and it was very very quiet.

I purchased one for my wife and kids and it also performs extremely well for such a low priced budget rifle. I have a .22 as well and it is equally as impressive.

I bought my son a .177 Maximus and I got a turd. Unfortunately, I modded the rifle before I found the problem so it cant be warrantied. I polished the hammer and bolt probe to try and get it to cock easier. When we went to shoot it, we couldn't even get a 2" group at 20 yards with the 13 grain or 10 grain JSBs.I took the barrel off and found a huge burr around the transfer port hole. The pellets catch the burr as they are pushed into the barrel. Crosman doesn't have any replacement barrels yet, so I have a $200 paper weight.

Did you try to remove the burr? If Crosman knows you worked on the gun and won't warranty it, just take out the burr and Polish up that barrel.

AJ, it's on my ever growing to do list. My son and I had a blast testing the BT 65 QE Hatsan sent me to test. Now that the BTs barrel is sent out, we are going to try getting the Maximus going. My son is in no hurry because he's been using my Marauder for the time being
