Best 1K budget 22 or 25 PCP.

Your desire sounds so familiar . . . I pretty much did the same thing 7 or 8 years ago, except I kept the Marauder . . .

I wanted to stay with a conventional "long gun" as I was after the accuracy, and I find them much easier to shoot well than bullpups for me. I liked bottle guns, so I decided on a used Daystate Air Ranger. I simply watched the classifieds and within a few months I had it - and I still have it and probably always will. It is my most accurate gun. It is so much more solid and robust than the Marauder. Used is really the best way to go - remember that while there are those of us that don't "churn" through air guns (or other stuff too) there are many that have to have the latest and greatest, and their habits are your financial windfall.

Before I got a Huben K1 in 2021 the Air Ranger was my most used air gun, but not so much now - but even though the Huben is the one I grab the most often, the Air Ranger is the one that stacks the pellets at 50+ yards. If I were doing it now, my choice would be a used Wolverine, as it has some clear upgrades over the Air Ranger that make it even more stable and accurate.

Good luck with your decision.

If you're really serious about that budget, there's a .25 cal AEA Challenger Pro on the marketplace right now for $600. The seller says he bought it a week ago so you have full warranty. His reason is apparently an unexpected financial situation.

There are nicer guns out there, but it's going to be tough to outshoot a Challenger Pro in that price range-- in power, accuracy and tunability. Huge range of adjustments you can plink 25 grain JSBs and get tons of shots per fill or shoot some heavy slugs at full power. The gun will do 80 fpe in 25 cal if you have some slugs.

I know most people here are suggesting some higher end guns which may be nicer in some ways, but the AEA fits your budget even if you buy one new, and it's a kick ass gun. I've owned 6 AEAs and I have a Challenger Pro in .30 ... my favorite by far. Heck, you might as well step it right up to 30 ;) ... I've been able to tune the power down on mine to right around 45 fpe, with a max of 138 fpe. You can shoot anything out of these guns.

I have been looking at getting into PCP air rifles so that I can shoot in backyard , but have very small budget and would need to get a very good suppression system as well , but I have no idea what to purchase and where to get the suppressor. for a PCP
Sounds like you need a Umarex Notos. It’s a terrific performance:cost ratio and pretty quiet with its factory suppressor. You can get by with a hand pump or buy a cheap compressor (knowing that it’s not likely to put much of a strain on it). Lots of positive reports on them if you search here and many members have figured out DIY fixes for the little issues such as the rough, out of the box, trigger action.
