I like my picks for after market support/tuning options and add ons. Also those two are widely used here so you can get a lot of technical help.

It all depends on WHAT YOU WANT OUT OF THE GUN???

So.. what do you want to do? 

Shoot itty bitty groups?

Shoot 100-200 yards?

Pest control?

Dinner procurement?

Look cool at the range and impress your friends?

Spend a lotta money and then sell stuff off to buy more stuff?



The answer to your question depends a lot on your answers those i just asked.

If you look at these 2 categories

I would say



Overall cost is going to be the 22 Seneca Aspen or Nova Liberty because it's an all in one no extra air source needed but can be filled with a tank or compressor if you want to. 



Overall Value probably the same or alot of guns can fit in here and can be bought on amazon: Gamo Urban, Gauntlet(regulated) , marauder, hatsan flash/pup

Not on amazon: Artemis pp750, Artemis p15(for lightweight setup)



Just some thoughts at first glance.

Avoid Hatsan like the plague

If I had 500 and already had an air source I would save a little more and wait until August. If you can spend an extra $179 more you will likely get one of the best value for dollar gun with the new marauder semi auto. That thing looks fun, it's unique, and seems to have a ton of upscale features for a really low price.
