Best .25cal 0r .30cal for the money?

Without breaking the bank, I'd look at the Hatsan AT44W Long. I had one for a short time before I traded it for a 909s.
Here's what I liked... as compared to my .25 MROD:

=> Solid,easy to load mags ... not the spring type
=> Side lever ... vs bolt
=> Balance, distribution of weight
=> More powerful out of the box
=> Barrel is threaded
=> Accurate

Hope this helps! Occasionally, you see them posted in the classified here and on Yellow.

Hi
you might want to take a look at the Sumatra either the full size rifle or carbine.
They are not pellet picky, you can adjust power on the fly. The magazines will accommodate a wide variety of pellet lengths.
Lots of power when you want it and can dial it down when you don't
The lever action is a nice feature.
They can be loud.
Price is about 625
hope this helps you out

I guess I'd be limited at 1k I'm getting married in December so things r a little tight. I like the hatsan I've never had any experience with them so idk what there like compared the evanix wich I also like and haven't had any experience with ether. I guess it comes down to power but more importantlyaccuracy and shot count. I had a talon ss and just didn't seem to shoot good for me. Maybe condor ss is better idk. But thanks for all the suggestions

Check out the Jkhan Krossa rifle and bullpups. Also their Iluda bullpups.

The 25 cals go for $800-$900 depending on the stock choise. They use LW barrels and have high quality CNC work on the metal and wood. You can buy one with a regulator as an upgrade option plus a shroud extension and still be under $1000.

If $1,000 was my absolute limit for a 25 cal and getting decent power was my goal, that is what I would buy.

There is a YouTube review of the Krosa but I have never see one for the Iluda. I think they are the same gun with different stocks though.

I spent a little time with the Krosa a while ago and I was impressed by them (especially for the price). If I didn't have a Cricket, I would have bought one at the time.

I'm still tempted by the Iluda from time to time. I love those futuristic metal stock guns

I have owned both and curious what makes the Condor "way better!"? Yes, the Condor is more powerful, but a Talon and Condor are very similar guns. Please elaborate.

Consider your usage, supported shooting, or carry in the field? The Sumatra carbine comes in around 6 lbs, about 8 for the rifle. The power will surpass others in the 30 cal range. The least pellet fussy gun I've seen, and an air hog. Hatsons are heavy, some great accuracy demonstrated by Baxter. Marauders more mods available than any other platform. You can go the bottle route, war valve, or 30 at a later date. A used Cricket pushing the 33.95's at 700 fps at 100 yds, it's air efficiency and accuracy is tough to hate.

"...More powerful..." downrange accuracy! encompasses "way better" for me. Similar platform-okaaayyyy-but that's like saying the P-rod and M-rod are neck and neck... Tinker with Condor's tophat and the gun becomes, well, "way better" again.

"Best" can be very personal based on your needs and biases, but IMHO, a refurb .25 Marauder at $360 or close to it is still the horse to beat for price vs performance. And I think JoeB will sell one with SSG pre-installed for $450-$500 on sale, which is probably even a better deal as you get better efficiency out of the box.

I'm not saying the Mrod is the best .25 made, but at its price it can't be ignored.

I have the Hatsan 44 Long QE, the Sumatra in .25 and the Condor SS in 22, . All are fine guns, but for all around power the Sumatra and Condor blow the Hatsan out of the water. For quiet shooting the Condor is my choice. If you need a magazine, then the Sumatra is the way to go ... but both these guns you have to know them and play with them till you get to their bell curve zone and how to adjust them.

Both my Sumatra and Condor shoot heavy for caliber pellets in the 975ish fps area, the 22 uses Monsters (25gr), the 25 shoots Barracuda's (31gr) .. they both are very, very powerful guns .. my Hatsan is shooting JSB Heavies (18.1gr) at ~985fps.
