Best 50X scope for field target or roughly high Magnification ?

I use Schmidt and Bender. 12 X 50. It requires adjustable pointer from Maestro UK. You can calibrate it for current conditions. Ranges perfect. It is temperature sensitive BUT it's not a problem with adjustable pointer. The new model is less affected and has a easliy removable magnetic sidewheel. Optics are incredible clear. Check out gooble on it, you won't be sorry. Ignore negative reviews. It's wonderful. March and top wheel Kale are good too. Sightron is more affordable and lots of competitiors have success with them. Be sure to check out available reticles.

Best is completely personal, as price might outweigh quality for some. Personally, I think the reticle is one of the most important items in this discussion, because if you hate it, it doesn’t matter how much it costs or how clear it seems to your eyes.

You have to be sure that your eyes see the same as others, before relying too much on quality.

The Sightron wins this a lot based on the quality for the price. Decent glass, great reliability, and a great price between $600-$1000 depending on the model. You don’t have to buy the FT model to use it in FT. I can get by with a couple reticles, but they are not my favorite.

The Delta is a better scope for sure with ED glass and being a heavier scope. Is it worth it for the price? Only you know. I personally didn’t like how thin the reticle was, so it was unusable for me and my eyes.

An even more expensive scope that fits my eyes MUCH better than those is the Kahles. That being said, it is even more than the Delta. The optics and reticle are much better for my eyes, but may not be for yours.

Because it is for FT, many would suggest having illumination also, but it is not necessarily required. Depends where you shoot.

I would suggest trying them used at good deals, so you can get your money back, and don’t expect to find the perfect scope on the first try.

+1 for the Falcon x50, at least in the FT version.

When I use that scope, misranged targets simply aren't a thing.

I think it was the 2020 AZ state match where somehow we ended up with a target at something like 8 yards. Logically, I don't have any data for an 8 yard impact point on the dope card taped to the gun, but I knew it was quite a bit less than 10 yards from the focus wheel. Brought out my phone and Strelok, something that I typically don't need to do with that gun/scope, and threw in 8 yards to get clicks. Cranked on the turret and knocked that illegal target down twice.

Anyway, from 10 to about 16 yards, the X50 will REPEATEDLY range to the foot. Ie, focus point on the wheel is 2/3s of the way towards 14 yards from 13 yards, then that target is at 13 yards and two feet.

Marks on the wheel are a little closer together than I'd prefer for the far targets, but it's 100% repeatable on landing on those marks when scope view is "clear."

Shooting the rig the X50 resides on has become a bit ho hum, it ranges by focus that well.

I was using the Vector 10-40 and it is certainly a VERY nice scope for the price - I really like the reticle on that guy. I've been running it with a 3d printed nautilus sidewheel. The image quality is outstanding until about 27x, very good from 27-33x, good from 33-37x and a little cloudy at 40x.

That being said, the Falcon x50 FT is of course much, much, superior. ESPECIALLY when it comes to depth of field (snapping in/out when ranging). I have no complaints at all with the Falcon. It is the best scope I've ever owned. If you can afford it, I would go with the Falcon x50 FT or the Sightron SIII FT. Make sure you get the FT version, since the parallax is set up specifically for ranging close range targets.

I used the Vector 10-40 for a couple of years and the cons are it only focused down to 12 yards and had a lot of slack in the parallax adjustment--I would focus a target several times (from the same direction) and would be at a different spot on my wheel. It got worse the longer I had it. It could be used at 40x but was much clearer at 30 and under.

Best budget scope,

Tac Vector sentinel 10-40x50.

Have 7 of them on various guns and use them for backups. I adjust the objective ring if they don't focus to 10y, but haven't had that happen for a while.

The sightron siii 10-50x60 is nice, very good scope but like Leo said, I prefer my Falcon X50 over it reticle wise.

Just picked up a Delta Stryker 5-50x56. So far it looks very very promising
