Best cheep optics

I picked up one of these recently on recommendation from someone here. Very happy with it especially at this price.

Westhunter i paid $235 for 2 and they are great. FFP 4-16×44, clear all the way to 16xwhich does feel like like 14x. I use these on the regular over my $300 Athlon 4-14×44. Had plenty of highend glass and for air, i cant see any reason to spend more unless going to a competition. I would still use these in any shoot within 100yds.

I guess it would be good to know what cheap means to you. To me it means under $150. Over that there are a lot of choices. Right now SWFA is selling their SS model for $220 with a lot of accessories thrown in, and that is a steal.
SWFA SS scopes are awesome. Had one for over 25 years (10x42 Mil Dot), on my M1A, never gave me any trouble at all. Fixed power scopes are like that, and the SWFA is top quality for it's type. Clear glass, excellent parallax, adjustable down to 10 yards. Gettin' too old for the heft of a battle rifle in '308, gave it to my brother in law... He loves it!

Now, I've got two 16x42 MOA SWFA SS scopes on .22 rifles. Great for these old eyes at 10 to 100 yards. Same great quality and reliability as my old one.

And I'll be taking advantage of their Black Friday Sale for another one in 16x42 MOA. I'm just a glutton for fixed power scope 'punishment' i guess.

Yes, lack of a throw lever is the only negative I have about the scopes I've owned. But, somebody is making one specifically for the SS fixed power rear focus series, I saw it on Amazon. Don't recall who it is, I should have put it on my wish list. Anybody know?
I have a down and dirty cheap fix for the lack of a throw lever on a rear focusing scope. Take a zip tie and wrap it around the focus wheel and snug it tight at the middle of the focus range. Clip the tail of the zip tie, and then use the lock end of the zip tie as your lever. The larger the zip tie, the better. It works pretty well!
