Best/Funnest Shooting Day Since Covid Started…

The interesting thing is, I did not meet my goal of a sub MOA group at 275 yards. Yet I still had an absolute blast.

It felt like everything came together in the last 10 minutes of shooting for the day. I was running out of slugs, and I knew I only had a few groups left to shoot.

for the first time ever, I could see all my hits. The Maroge was minimal. It was amazing to shoot, a second later to see the hole appear in the target, and then a second after that to hear it hit. It was really cool. Indescribably cool.

The last seven shots were incredible. Three in a little tiny triangle, and then three more in another little tiny triangle a couple inches to the right, and then the last one went right in the middle between the two groups of three. And then I was out of slugs. But I was smiling. I watched every hit. Those groups look so tiny through the scope from 275 yards away.

Here is that final group:

Below are three other groups shot today, in each group, four out of the five shots were under MOA at 275 yards. The calipers are set at MOA

The rifle was of course a Delta Wolf in 25, with the NSA 29 green 🐌 . No I was not in Phoenix.

I would never have started on this electronic rifle journey had I not bought one during Covid. I just don’t believe it would’ve happened. It was not on my shortlist.

thanks woogie,

I doubt I could hit the 4x6 target backer at 275 today. Crazy weather.

Yesterday afternoon, the wind was blowing my slugs off the target, and I could not figure out what was going on. This went on for about a half hour, scratching my head. Then I turned the target backer sideways. And shot the above groups. The wind was mild but it was pushing out about 2 feet. I thought either I was losing it, or my technology wasn’t working. So I cleaned my barrel also…Which of course made no difference.

My posts may tend to make this look easy, it is most sincerely not. I had some really good weather yesterday. A nice steady mild breeze.

Nice shootin Mike!!! I wish you were just down the road from me so we could do some more shootin together. I had a blast shooting with you when you were here in Phoenix to pick up the DW. I'm with you 100% on really enjoying a traditional looking rifle, But you really opened my eyes to the black rifles potential as well when we shot at Rio and it has only gotten better as you are getting settled in with it. Phenomenal shooting!! I recall when I bought one of your RAW rifles, how you told me that it took you the better part of a summer to get a group under MOA at 100. I still have that rifle too and it still shoots!!

Thx

Dan
