Thanks! I’ll check them out.

Thanks - I'll check out the Tekton. I bought the Eklind and found the 1.5mm to be undersized enough to strip out 1.5mm grub screws. Maybe I should contact them!

Ya, i understand that rounding off or snapping one in 2 .. or one that rounds the bolt or nut head tlays and there you are..lol.. of you come off a little money and find branded usa, swiss, Sweden, uk , Germany maybe japan still good.

Thing i dont have is a t handle set.. on the jobs they dont fit in some areas so i stuck to L's , but at home maybe be nice. Ball end too boot

I was in the hobby industry for 30 years. MIP was the gold standard for Allen wrenches. However, there are many companies that now offer high speed (HS) tool steel bits that won’t round off or strip out the inside of the socket at a fraction of the cost. HS tool steel (essentially drill bit blanks) is the material you are wanting. Dynamite is a hobby brand that comes to mind and if you were to break or damage the bit, it can be replaced for a couple of bucks.

I have a set similar to these. The three smallest you will probably never use though. BE VERY CAREFUL tightening using the 1.5 and 2.0mm as they can break if over torqued. When you cannot move the wrench anymore, the screw is as tight as it needs to be.

Avoid ANY that are titanium coated. That’s a gimmick.

Check out the Wera hex plus sets.
Hands down best hex keys I've used.
I own wiha, bondhaus, proto, husky, dewalt and a few other brands and the Wera's damage hex bolts the least of any of them.
The fitment of the keys in the socket heads is dang near perfect. There are something like 19 patents on just the hex tips alone.
They are fairly expensive, but comparable to most higher end manufacturers.
If you take equipment appart regularly for maintenance and cleaning the cost of a stripped hex bolt and the pain to remove it-the price is negligible.

Bondhus as been the professional's choice forever. All mechanics I know have a set of Bondhus keys. My SAE set is over 30 years old. Can't find my metric set because I rarely used metric until getting FX guns. Bought a metric set Bondhus from Amazon and never looked back. I don't use any of the shiny or colorful ones. My personal preference is the black oxide finish.
