Ive only tried the JSB 7 and 8 grains in my 177.. Getting ready to order a few more to try . Any suggestions ?
Best HW30s pellets ?

I'm using the jsb 7.3 grain. They are delicate with lots of bent skirts, but I fix them and shoot and the groups at 30 yards is one ragged hole unless I pull one. I don't know what more I could ask for. My R9 likes h&n ftt in 8.6 gr I believe it is. The copper ones. I may try those in my R7.

I have found JSB 7.33 gr pellets to shoot extremely well. My rifles shot a pellets well but the 7.33 gr JSBs were one a whole different level.

What ever your gun shoots the best, all barrels are different. I would suggest getting a sampler pack from Straight Shooters and see which pellet shoots the best out of your gun. I would not shoot any copper or pba type pellet without cleaning your barrel prior.

Both of my HW30s like 7.87 JSBs. 7.33 was close, but I'm sure the 7.87 was the best by just a bit. Do you have any of them? Have you tried them? If not email me your address and I'll send you some free of charge to try... Brian ivabrian2--at--gmail.com

Mine likes the 8.18 gr H&N Match best. Can be bought in different head sizes.
I buy a lot of these from Champions Choice-- their Competition wadcutters in 8.18 gr I believe are manufactured for them by H&N. The price is right and as far as I can tell they are just the same as the more expensive H&N Match Rifle in all respects.
i recently tried the new domed pellet from H&N called Sniper Medium. These are 8.5 gr and seem to perform well in the HW30S as well as my AA 200T.

I just tried some crosman 7.9 premier in the box and they grouped better than the JSB's (which I just ordered 4 tins of). The premiers fit more tightly in the breech and their poi was identical at 25 yards.

I hated it but I had to send my HW30 back to Pyramid Air. The spring under the detent ball was too weak and barrel wouldn't lockup reliably ...I found out it's a common problem , How can such a widely known problem happen for what I'm hearing is last couple of years with this model ??? I absolutely loved this little gun and had to ship it off before I even got to try more pellets . Now I guess I'll look for an older used one , or one that's been fixed by a tuner .... Or maybe just pass on HW all together . What a shame

That is a shame. I had 3 of them. Never a problem. Bought two new ones just this year. They are an awesome little gun for the money. I think I would try another one. Brian Smith <><

Oh yeah I'm gonna try another one for sure !!! Easy to cock and more accurate than any springer I've ever tried .
