N/A Best of the cheap springers?

Mycapt65, my new barrel will be here today, from Chambers, for my HW50. I think my 50 was made on Monday or Friday or they accidentally put a shot gun barrel on it. I started shooting airguns in 2013 with a Ruger spring gun from wally world and then two Crosman springers. All three shot 3 times better than the 50. Worst gun l have ever owned. My HW97 and TX200 are great springers. Don
Hey Don,
The HW50S is a hands down better gun than the X25, Hatsan 65 or Hatsan 95, unfortunately you must have gotten one with a problem that simply needs to be fixed or adjusted. I understand your frustration spending the $$$, but while the above mentioned guns are very good guns for the $$, they're way too powerful for what your asking unless you don't care if the gun's 15/20 FPE or needs to be detuned.

FWIW, the time spend upgrading/detuning the less expensive guns ...... will fix the HW50S to be all it can be :) .

I have Tony Leach tuned TX200 MK1, HW97 with a Vortek kit and a HW50 that l'm waiting on a new barrel, stuck in customs. This gun has been a night mare. Should have sent it back to AOA before warranty ran out. Which cheap break barrel, not over 200.00, is a decent shooter. The only kit l see at Vortec is the Ruger air hawk. Need something l can adjust trigger or put an after market in. Would like something comparable to the HW50 inside and around 12 foot pounds. Just a project gun and possible 30 yard squirrel gun. Thanks, Don
Which gun is the nightmare, the TX or the 50 ??

Well, the Diana 240 Classic is here. I thought I was buying the 240 Classic that Tom Gaylord reviewed in the Pyramid Blog. This is a totally different gun. Too late in the day to take decent pictures, but it's bad even for $99.00. All that's printed on the top of the receiver is the written out-

Diana
two forty

Doesn't even have the company trademark etching of the woman with the rifle like advertised. Blueing is marginal, stock is rough, blocky, ill fitting garbage. I figured this thing might be rough around the edges, but damn. This is not the same rifle PA shows in the pictures in their ad, and it's not the rifle in the blog review. Very disappointed. Caveat emptor.

Well ask for a full return ...pa is usually pretty good. But I was hoping for good news:(
Yeah, going back tomorrow. Also going to let them know that the pics in the ad are not the same gun. Totally confusing giving two guns the same model number but printing/stamping it on the gun in different formats with no mention of the differences or where and how they are made.

New barrel installed, has about 15" of droop at 30 but left and right dead on. Groups are WAY better than with old barrel. About 1" right from start with H&N 8.64s. After break in, will find the pellet it likes so no crying with this one. Don
What caliber?

Rule out potential lock-up issues, barrel slightly at block if no issues found.

From page one....I repeat, what was the issues with the barrel ??

Gun had 22" of droop at 30 yards, shot 12" to left with SCOPES optically zeroed. Gun shot a solid 3"-4" at 15 yards and 5" to 6" at 30 yards. Bent barrel to get droop out. Looked like pretzel after bending. Put new barrel on. Gun now shoots about 15" low and within 1" left to right at 30 yards. Groups are around 1" at 30 yards with H&N 8.64 pellets that l grabbed off my shelf. Gun should get much better after break in and pellet testing. AirShot, does that answer your question? Thanks, Don
