A good point beerthief. This deal was ALL my fault. My TX200 MK1 and HW97, I have, have a lot of droop. I just use Sportsmatch fully adjustable mounts and drooper mounts to handle the droop. I bought the HW50 in December and only shot it a little. Figured it was just me and the cold causing the bad groups. Just needed a good break in. When it warmed up, l tried shooting a couple tins thru it to break in. No luck so l figured a Vortek kit would do it, no luck. Decided I had lost any ability, l had, to shoot a springer. Ask my brother in law to give it a whirl. After 2 months, he handed it back and said " there's something wrong with this gun ". I put the factory kit back in, used different "special" magic lubes, polished barrel, said a few prayers but finally gave up. Thought, have given this a good try, let's see how the HW lifetime warranty is. To my surprise, 389.00 HW springer has the same warranty as a wally world 69.00 springer. So here we are today. I am 114.00 poorer from buying a new HW .177 barrel for my 389.00 " top of the line" springer. Lesson learned, check warranty, even if on a top of the line item that has a cult following. I now have a 503.00 Hw50 that only needs a good barrel bending or a drooper mount to be serviceable. I figured another 150.00 for a set of adjustable rings or 30.00 drooper mount and a couple hundred dollars for pellets, I will have about 700.00 to 800.00, not counting scope, in a somewhat servicable 30 yard spring gun. Sorry for my sarcasm but I feel like the Hw50, with its know issues, is just an average spring gun. With the galling issues, hard to cock due to 12" barrel and fairly heavy recoil for a 12 foot pound springer, I don't see all the hype this gun is given. This is JMHO, Don
