I'm sure the subject has been discussed ad nauseam but AOA had a really good deal on a 52 that I couldn't pass up and I'm wondering what pellets you guys recommend to try.

My 48 (same gun as a 52 in a cheaper looking stock) prefers H&N FTT 14.66gr in 5.52mm head size. It shoots JSB 15.89 and 18.13's well too. For cheap pelllets try Crosman Premier hollow points, they shoot better in my rifle than a lot of more expensive pellets.

I did the AOA deal and love mine very accurate with the H+N Barracuda Match 21 grain loves the heaver pellets

Thank you for the suggestions. I'm off to PA to order some ammo. I'll order a couple of the different suggested pellets and go from there

I just bought a 52 Diana .22 this summer... I love it! Mine likes the RWS pointed pellets, I sighted in my UTG bug buster scope with them. Spinners at 40 yards are not a problem if I do my part. Word of advice... use caution cocking it. I inadvertently scratched up my stock on my belt buckle as I cradled the butpad on my hip, holding the barrel with my left and cocking the side lever with my right. Oh well, I bought it to shoot spinners and pests with, not as a safe queen! But be careful and learn from my mistake.

Thanks for the advice. I have break barrels and under levers but this is my first side cocking air rifle and requires a whole new discipline to shoot.
Hopefully I won't do anything dumb but knowing me I probably will.

THE ABOVE .. I have shot several side lever RWS rifles, and own one as well. ALL of them love the H&N FT 14.66gr in 5.52mm head size. Without exception.
Second best is usually the 15.9 JSBs.

Just curios … any of you fellow side lever shooters ever shot the recoilless model 54? Although mine is tuned, they are CRAZHY smooth shooting guns for their power.

Yes, a buddy of mine has a couple in .177, they are smooth but the weight and extra cost was more than I wanted.
