Best place to find cheap reactive targets?

Good old paint balls. Stick on cardboard, place on golf tees. Use your imagination and have fun.

Can't tell you here how I make my own targets but I'll answer PM's.
Al, oxidizer done. just have to have the right oxidizer for low energy impacts to set it off. Dangerous stuff for fools. I started at 8 years old in the 1960's with a chemistry set I got for christmas, amazing what you could do with one and a public library for research. By my teens I used to make some crazy sensitive contact explosives, less than a gram at a time, paint a piece of hamburger, set it out to dry and watch flies blow themselves to bits. Even made plastics almost as good as C4/semtex, high molar concentration acids used to be so simple to buy. Gave all that up in my early 20's, mortality, law, common sense creeping in and such...

For a couple years I got back in to low grade stuff for beaver dams to protect an old growth hardwood bottom, moved away almost 15 years ago from there. 3 micron Al, low sensitivity oxidizer, pinch of acid free sulphur so cannon fuse would set it off. The very last weekend I ever took out beaver damns I recorded one where I could set camera up 50 yards away zoomed in. Wish I could have filmed the 7 foot tall one that wasn't 30 yards behind where camera was, just no sight line that would be safe'ish for camera. Small one holding back just over 2 feet of water, 5 frames of start of boom(it gets bigger), last frame is 30 seconds later showing the hole, can't tell but that is a 2.5 foot wall of water pouring through. boom starts upriver side of damn under 2 feet of water and over a foot further into silt built up.

Confidential conversation please: I have had a type 20 license for explosives and am a chairperson in a pyrotechnics guild.

I use simple 70/30 flash inside a tube but add 1 or 2 adult pop-pops inside the tube before filling.

They MUST be used the same day legally. A .177 at 12# can easily set them off.

My tubes are 1/2" Id and 2" long.
