Where is the best place to get a long box to ship a gun? Called a local gun store they said they cut their boxes open so they are damaged. Could have been BSing me and not want to be bothered.

Large box at walmart, will need to add new creases, but will suffice, and packing paper. Also remove the action from the stockto belp shorten things up.

I saved all of my boxes and have dozens and dozens up in the attic. Problem is I don't sell my guns!

Another option would be a budget gun case in a cardboard box. Spend a few bucks and possibly avoid a damaged gun.

Buy something like that MTM case on line, it will come in an outer cardboard box. then you can ship it as a more discrete item. I once sent a $13,000 shotgun off for repair in a similar case, stuffed in a box that a large set of wind chimes came in, Took a lot of tape to hold it together, got it back in the same box.

I ordered a pack of 10 online to accomodate a large 51" gun case if necessary, otherwise double box from my old orders.

Great ratings there I see. With one review, maybe it’s worth the gamble. As some others have stated, boxes that gun bags, cases, and guns came in work well.
