more than just some.. lol i’d flip a coin, thrice.I’ll bet there’s some goodness under all “that”…![]()
Out of the box, the Notos is accurate enough to hit 1.5" targets up to about 30-40 yards.I bet that at plus 60 yard ranges, “out the box” without myriad modifications? Urban / Coyote all the way… Speaking from field experience…![]()
I love tinkering with my builds.Newbie here first post I have owned a few airguns over my time in this sport started when I was 8 with a red rider and now have a few pcp's A few pumpers and co2 guns my pride and joy is my diana stormrider with reshaped wood stock its been ported like crazy and dose every thing I want or need it to do. But my question is what's everyone's favorite cheap gun's pcp or other wise and I don't mean A 500 dollar one I mean one under 275 range give or take I ask because everyone I talk to always tells me im crazy because I sold my fx m3 to buy my stormrider and a few other low cost guns and found out I love them more than I ever loved my fx would like to see if enyone else is like me and just prefers to shoot and tinker with low cost guns.
I guess I was misusing mine because chipmunks from 40 to 60 yards were toast. Many woodchucks at 50+ yards…Mine was very accurate the BSA barrels are known for their accuracy.Out of the box, the Notos is accurate enough to hit 1.5" targets up to about 30-40 yards.
I would not recommend it past the 40 yards, unless you tune it.

OK… mea culpaThis thread is about the Notos.
The BSA barrels are in the Gamo Urban and other Gamo PCPs, since BSA was acquired by Gamo many years ago.
it’s definitely a fun and consistent little gun. tune for 15.89g going 850 and try shooting quail out to 70+ yards.Love my Notos for backyard plinking. I didn't need more power it was shooting JSB 13.43gn @ 783fps / 18fpe which is more than enough for the backyard pests but I couldn't help do some minor tinkering. Upped the reg 1/2 turn and added slightly heavier spring now shooting tad over 20 fpe with the JSB 13.43gn and 22 fpe with the 18.13gn.
Also before I upped the reg a bit I was taking quail at 50+ yards, definitely accurate for a little guy.

I'm tempted to mod it but gonna keep it around 20fpe, much more won't be so backyard friendly and my back yard I only have about 25yards to shoot....I'll take the Vulcan 3 out for 50+ yard shootingit’s definitely a fun and consistent little gun. tune for 15.89g going 850 and try shooting quail out to 70+ yards.

Stock Notos is about 750-770FPS with CPHP 14.3 grain pellets.it’s definitely a fun and consistent little gun. tune for 15.89g going 850 and try shooting quail out to 70+ yards.
Stop before it's too lateit’s fully ported and the barrel port is elongated and angled to about 45* to direct air flow down the barrel. i admit i did spent about an extra $140 on a drop block and plenum but that’s it
stock barrel, half coil cut off of the hammer spring, trigger job, stippled the grip i lightened the hammer. moderator with a 6.5mm exit hole.
reg at around 2100-2150psi. my wife and i just bought a house. i’m too broke to spend more money on a $250 dollar gun but i did buy a K1 from a member here to act like bedrock and stop me from digging too deep into that rabbit hole called power.
